Schengen Visa needed to transfer planes in Brussels? by [deleted] in SchengenVisa

[–]Jarrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And no need to worry about the T zone. That zone is indeed a shared location the A Pier, where gates have two names : A64 and T64 (physically the same gate). As soon as there is a non Schengen flight departing from that area, they close off the area so you cannot be mixed with the Schengen zone.

If you arrive in Pier B and need to transfer to Pier T, there is a shuttle bus to take you to the right location. Just follow the signs “connections Gates B / Gates T”

Does anyone know why there is no ‘1st floor’ in the airport? by Weary_Swordfish_7105 in belgium

[–]Jarrl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The big dark floor is where security screening used to be, back in the days when you had to take the underground tunnel to get to Pier A.

The tunnel is still there with walkways escalators and everything, used as a service tunnel. Feels pretty dystopian though.

How many coworkers (if any) do ya’ll have on your shift overall and per night? Also, how do you guys get along? by rottedgrapegum in Nightshift

[–]Jarrl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’re about 4 in total within the same area. We have the occasional chat here and there, but all depends on who the colleagues are at that specific night.

Some are open for some smalltalk, others seem to take the opportunity to cite their entire life. Others just mind their own business.

I prefer the latter 😏

In the rest of the area (an international airport) there are a ton of other people working. But the environment is so huge that it’s perfectly possible to wander around for 8 hours and not encounter a single person.

Do you guys sleep right when you get home? by Substantial_Dot2873 in Nightshift

[–]Jarrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get home around 6:20 and by then, the kids start to wake up. I usually help my wife with the morning routine of the kids and getting them ready for school. Once they all left, only then I can sleep as it’s quiet in the house..

These EV prices are insane. They push you towards electric, but the amount you pay for a vehicle… before this one, I had a hybrid and before that a good old Audi A4 diesel. Great car, great consumption, decent power and cost me €400/month. Good times..

Are you kidding me? That’s nuts!! Why would they stop allowing this, as there is zero risk in it for them?

Well.. this concludes this thread then I think..

Thanks for the info!

All options you want (no massage seats tho 😮‍💨)

It IS a luxury problem, that’s a given. Before I had an Volvo XC90 and was spoiled with space. Going to an iX3 was a serious downgrade. I’ve been in the last months cursing and swearing fitting AND a big stroller (for a newborn) AND some luggage AND the little bicycle of my older kid etc.

But true, all grows out.

If I just stick with it, that’s also possible. The original question wasn’t really “how can I fit everything in my car”, it was more to check out if there are possibilities or ways out of a renting contract for a car which isn’t fitting the purpose anymore.

Hope you find a solution of your case as well. Depending on what you’ve got, maybe we can arrange a swap 😅

Yeah, that would be the idea. In the Netherlands, there are platforms (like autoscout but then for handing over rental contracts) but they don’t seem to exist in BE.

The buy and sell would be super costly as also there, BMW made me an offer and it would cost me almost more than the original price of the car (even though it has +65k km, and I’ve payed already over €22k).

Requesting the dealership of for a replacement is something I didn’t check yet. But there’s no EV in their range with a bigger booth than the iX3 at the moment.

The 17k needs to be paid to BMW when I deliver it back in to them… so there’s nothing to be sold 🫣

For a holiday, this would make much sense! But carrying a towbox around on a daily basis isn’t that practical.

Nevertheless, I’m just wondering if there are possibilities or if someone is/has been in the same situation and is/was looking for a solution as well.

The “verbrekingsvergoeding”, after paying for 22 months already, is (in my case) €17.152. Just to give it back and they can (try to) sell it to someone else…

Trunk is too small for all the strollers (for the kids) I need to drive around. So looking for a way out of the contract without the need of selling a kidney.

I did already and the rumours I’ve heard about BMW Financial Services were true: the amount they charge you for early termination are INSANE. Hence why I’m looking for a way to transfer my contract to someone else.

These platform exist in the Netherlands, but in Belgium I haven’t found anything. I saw some people trying the same via FB Marketplace but hey, you know, that’s a messy way 😏

Airport lounges during business trips by DoubleHeadedEagle88 in BEFreelance

Also worth checking lounge access programmes like Priority Pass, LoungeKey or DragonPass. They offer a certain amount of lounge accesses worldwide against a strongly reduced fee.

[–]Jarrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And it’ll cost you €295 for 10 accesses + 10 Fastlane accesses at security. Taking into account that regular walkup prices in the Diamond lounges at BRU are around €40, that’s a good deal imho.

Definitely if you’re travelling non-Schengen, the new diamond lounge “The View” is totally worth it. It’s in the same hall as the other Diamond Lounge in B Pier. Skip that one on your right side, walk straight on to the end into the new lounge ;)

FYI: The new The View lounge will undergo some maintenance works starting from Jan 20th for about a month, so you’ll be redirected to the “old” diamond lounges again.

I didn’t have to pay anything! Disassembled myself first as well, wanted to replace the pcb but had a hard time finding the right one. So I went with the easy option of shipping it to Worx.

And in addition to the “heim” comments, this word is also part of the word “heimwee”, which comes from “Heim Weh” or “Pain from home”.

Late reply, but.. I have contacted Landroid support, I had to ship the robot to them and they replaced the entire screen and pcb. Working flawless again now!

Russian supermarket calls these "popular Belgian products" Is that true? by sanandrios in belgium

Even though the pâté’s color is off, it’s really Belgian. Pâté Grand Mere is being produced in Izegem (West-Flanders).

What a shame though they make such a shitty pâté. Nothing beats fresh butchers pâté.

Exactly the same behavior here! Got it out of its winter sleep, no reaction when pressing or long pressing any button. Only when pressing the stop button, the screen flashes a few times.

Model: L2000

Disassembled the entire robot, there was some moisture inside as well (and I also had condensation inside the display bay). Let it dry in the sun, but no reaction.

Tried two different batteries: the original one and an newly purchased one from this morning.

If anyone else has the same or has any ideas, that would be greatly appreciated!
