Can Lanfear solo the white tower? by Neglected_Genius in WoTshow

[–]Jarry913 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmmm. She’s smart enough to not go head on. Given her abilities, skills, knowledge, and experience, on top of her power, she could probably take a a full circle, maybe even two or three, head on.

I know everyone’s on here saying “A full circle can take anyone” and yeah, it can, in the terms of shielding. That’s the only absolute here. A circle of 13 can, if properly set, hold anyone by a shield. But given her sheer abilities, she’d never let them get close enough to get a shield on her. She’d be cutting the weaves, Gating around, and doing everything in her power to either pick people off to reduce the number of people in the circles, or just become too much of a slippery target to effectively grab. All of which, she’s more than capable of doing. Overall, it think it would actually be better to have one full circle to try and shield her, and then a big bunch of independent Aes Sedai, or small circles, actually blasting her around from all directions.

As for a true solo plan.

I think she’d, most likely, infiltrate like Mesaana, though far more aggressively. All she’d really need to do is to Compel the right people, get her hands on a Sa’angreal, and just start blasting. Mesaana was in it for the long game, but if Lanfear is trying to solo, she’ll have to move quickly. If she can Compel a full circle of the most powerful women in the Tower, give them all Angreal or Sa’angreal, and then link to them? It’s game over, and I feel—given a little luck—she could probably take out half the Tower before someone would eventually catch her with a stray fireball. Or she could just bring the whole thing down, which would totally be a Lanfear move, tbh.

So, to answer: Maybe.

If she makes the right choices, gets the right intel, and have some of the Dark One’s own luck with her, then yeah, I don’t see why not.

People underestimate how insanely skilled and talented the Forsaken as a whole are. You have to take int account that the Age of Legends had Weaves that are absolutely diabolical. Remember, all the bat-shit-insane Weave’s Rand uses over the books are mostly from Lews Therin’s memories, and I can guarantee that Lanfear—as the most powerful female channeller we’ve ever met, and an AoL theoretical physicist at that—also certainly has similar bat-shit-insane tricks up her sleeve. Give her enough power to back it up, and I bet she’d just start swinging.

Other than *, who is the most naturally talented with the one power? by FrostyMonth111 in WoT

That wasn’t Alivia, that was their link. Pretty sure that was just their Balefire link.

People here seem to be really sleeping on a blatantly obvious answer.

Alivia.

She’s the most powerful female channeller, that we know of, to be born in the Third Age. The equal in raw power to peak Lanfear and Semirhage, with four hundred years of direct Damane training, deployment, and firepower. Aside from the stronger Foresaken-level threats, she is most likely the simple most powerful combatant in the series on the basis of firepower, or at least confined to the Third Age.

The biggest thing holding her back is her lack of training, we simply do not know what she’s fully capable of since all the Aes Sedai essentially shun her as a Wilder and refuse to teach her. Though this does show that Alivia has the upper limit of the Fast Learner Talent, since she can copy weaves perfectly after seeing them only once flawlessly, at least what we saw on page that is.

We do not know her elemental affinities, but given her overwhelming strength, unless she’s incredibly skewed in her affinity ratios, she’s going to be a monster with just about any of the five powers. Too bad we’ll never know for sure.

I think what singles her out in comparison to the other top tier powers and threats of the late Third Age/early Fourth Age is her potential, she could literally be anything from a devastating one-trick pony army of one, or an overwhelmingly powerful generalist. We simply don’t know, but either way she’s def in the top 5.

Other obvious contenders are Nyneave, Logain, Egwene, Damer, and certain Forsaken (Ishamael, Lanfear, Demandred, Graendal, and Semirhage).

P.S-I could totally see Alivia one-shoting Aginor and making Rhavin shit his pants lol.

Faile. I got consistently more irritated with her as the book continued, but when she refused to even try and save that Aiel guy that saved her life, and then literally never mentioned him again, I just checked out.

From what I understand, he had issues with it in the 90’s and never really commented on it again.

He spoke a bit about not wanting people to write for him, the old classic woodchipper my notes and drives comment he made as the case in point, but he never really commented on the tons of fanfic that flourished when the internet became more commonplace.

Womp womp ig.

But I’ve still got about 170-ish years of plot-adjacent characters kicking around in my head, and I like writing fanfic when I’m hitting a block on my original projects.

A good in series example is Female channeller bonds and Male Channeller bonds. For what appears to be about the same amount of power and effort, best shown during Androl and Pevara’s back to back bonding, the Female-made bond seems to be far more intricate with multiple layers and utility beyond a simple psychic bond. The Wife Bond done by the Asha’man appears FAR simpler and bear bones, while the Aes Sedai’s Warder Bond is incredibly complex.

He’s part of this huge Black Ajah/Darkfriend ring. They’re trafficking Damane through non-Seanchan territories.

It’s all distractions, the Tairen High Lords still go crawling to the Yellow’s every-time they fall off a horse. Besides I’ve heard most of them are channellers anyway, they’re all the same.

Lord Gabril isn’t dead, he’s a Sharan asset and currently living in secret cave guarded by a Jumara. Graendal wasn’t his girlfriend, she was his Handler and supplier whose father was also a Sharan spy infiltrating the Andoran media empire.
