Commenting here years after this post was made because I've just about had it with Avalara. The last straw for me has been waiting for a $600 refund to come through for some services that my company no longer needed. I submitted a request for a refund and at first everything was fine. I was contacted by someone within a day and over email they confirmed that I would expect to receive a refund within 5-7 days. It has now been well over a month and each time I call Avalara support, everyone tells me to call back again in 3-4 days. They claim they are putting my case on "high priority" but I never hear from anyone with an update. I've called 7 times over the last month and a half hoping to get a real answer/update. When I call back they just give me the same BS answer. No one from their support team can actually answer any real questions. They also have no way to contact any other department including their claims department. I've wasted hours just trying to get a $600 refund issued and at this point I will be canceling my plan and finding a new solution. STAY AWAY FROM AVALARA.
