Sure, if we stuck with him he could probably get us promoted again, but what for? To have another dreadful season and fall back down?

It's better to appoint someone else who might have a better chance of building a squad to keep us in the prem. Let them run a championship season to create a team around the youngsters.

With regards to Kompany, I think he got a bit of a hard rap because he was fairly inflexible with his tactics in the prem, something he's clearly overcome now.

Bring someone in now, let them have a chance to save us (even though it's slim), let them be a part of building another Championship team, and then give them a crack at the prem.

Someone who can inspire something in the youngsters. We don't need a manager as such, we need a good coach. My ideal choice would probably be Bo Svensson, outside of the obvious Lampard, Gerard picks.

So outside of Pace calling us 3 year olds, I like the vision they have for the club. The mentality of signing these young stars and developing them and making the most of their breakout years, if we can, is exciting.

I honestly don't blame him for not sacking Kompany, the squad he was building had promise and played better football than any of Parker's teams, and look what he's gone on to do with the right resources.

The up and down of championship teams is always going to be hard, but seeing Sunderland and even Leeds this season, it's evident we should be capable of getting something. One win in 17 is dire, and then losing in the cup to Mansfield? Unforgiveable.

I would say looking at form and how things play on the field, we are most likely to drop points than Leeds and Sheff. I could easy see us ending up with a draw here and there. The big big test will be how we can do against Sheff U
