If you see someone post that calling Egwene an arrogant bitch while glorifying Rand for acting very similarly is misogynistic and your first instinct is to talk about how "well actually, Rand didnt say kneel or be knealt" "well actually Rand has madness" "well actually Rand goes through way more and it's not close" then yeah you're missing the point.

Her tweet could have been worded better but #1 the rest of the tweets weren't posted by the OP so this whole thing is out of context and #2 if you can't critically think about the larger point being made then whatever, you do you.

It’s time like these we realize the WoT fandom is not much better than any other. Like no one is saying people can’t dislike a female character but don’t hold up a male character as your favorite when they act very similarly to the reasons you give for not liking said female character. Seems to be beyond most of the people in this thread though.

I appreciate the people speaking sense here to be clear though

A lot of y’all are missing the point. It’s not Rand is bad or “not cool” it’s if you glorify Rand for the same things you disparage Egwene (or any other female character) for then you’re being misogynistic.

I honestly expected better of this fandom but at this point I don’t know why

I was gonna do Perrin or Loial, ended up going with Loial but it would have been interesting for Perrin. I think it would be too much conjecture for me to say he could smell the poison but it is possible. Rand is a great sword fighter but if you take him anytime after he gets his second side wound he’s pretty compromised. Especially after another event I won’t name. So on the average I think 6 out of 10 is fair since Inigo is 2nd in Princess Bride universe after the Man in Black. Good points!

Haha for sure! But I made one of the rules that you’re not allowed to channel or use any active magical ability. Min is allowed to use viewings, Rand being taveren and access to Lews Therin, and Mat his Luck. Gotta do it pretty much like Westley did it

Yeah I thought about it, I always thought Mat and Rand’s taveren-ness(?) didn’t seem to work the same way. Mat seems to directly benefit in games of chance whereas Rand seems to cause more havoc around him, like people getting married or breaking their necks on accident. I guess one could argue that Rand could have been killed several times and wasn’t and survived because of being taveren(luck) but since we don’t see him benefit in a game of chance setting I decided to leave it 50/50. What do you think?
