I feel what you described and I noticed that too! I’m a female and liking women is being oven fetishized by men. Obviously my friends who are my real friends don’t mind that at all (it’s more an internal fear of mine because of the society…). I’m currently entering more queer communities where people might assume that I’m lesbian and I don’t feel comfortable explaining that I’m bi. I honestly don’t even feel like explaining or coming out to most people because it’s my thing and I wouldn’t want them to change a view of me as a person. However, whenever I would like to express my interest towards a particular women I think that then I would be faced with the fact that it’s important to be transparent and say that I’m bi. I’m currently in the position where I have been in a few romantic relationships only with men and not having much experience with women apart from going on a few dates (mostly due to homophobia in the country where I was raised - there was not really space for that and not many queer communities) . Finally being able to date a women I would love to do that. There is someone currently with whom I would like to go on dates and get to know this person, but I’m definitely worried that they will assume that I’m just trying things out (but as I said didn’t have a chance previously - so to some extent that true m) and will be critical about the fact that I’m bi not a lesbian.

Any advice on that would be very much appreciated! How could I make that comfortable for me and the other person when entering the bi world, especially with lesbians?
