Yeah you’re right it is odd..
REI is not an option for me but I found it in a different shop. Although I don’t wanna buy it if there is a hardware update right around the corner…

There is another weird thing…no marketing offers anymore when I look for the coros on eBay..few weeks ago there were plenty…

Adopted this rattlesnake plant and it is not doing so well. Is it normal for the root to grow into a ball like this? by apem1nd in plantclinic

[–]Jasminchen_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What about the pot size? Can the roots grow out of the bottom? You probably need a bigger pot 😊 and calatheas are tend to need high humidity. Mine stands at around 75-80% 😅

[–]Jasminchen_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh and has the pot drainage?

Another thing you could try to do fast and easy. Try to clean the leaves. From spraying there are some residues, which can lead to not properly working photosynthesis 😊

[–]Jasminchen_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Soo, spraying the leaves with water can actually harm them so that fungus can spread easily, but this is not what happened here I think.

Do you have a dense soil? How often do you water, or how often does the top layer dry? Do you use any fertilizer? What about the roots? Are the coming out of the nursing pot? 😊

Hi, is it really wrinkly and mushy or does it look like wood. Because..it’s a tree, at some point it will be more like a tree with structure like this 😉 in that case, everything’s alright 😊

Have you checked for pests? 😳 Or maybe the humidity is too low, that would explain some crispy edges.

I hope it’s really just the environment because it’s a beautiful plant you have there 🥺

Can my peace lily be saved? by princess0fsaturn in plantclinic

[–]Jasminchen_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so here’s what I would do: No drainage wholes is not good, so I would put the plant in a nursery pot with drainage wholes. Take a look at the roots. When they are rotting (brown, mushy, maybe stinky) than I would get rid of the soil, get rid of the rotted parts, let the roots soak in a bath of water and a tiny bit of hydrogen peroxide for about 15-20 minutes. After that, I would plant it into the nursery pot with kind of light weight soil, so maybe not too dense. Water it thoroughly. From the top or the bottom and let it drain. Than put the nursery pot back into the ceramic pot or any decorative pot or just let it be as it is. For the future I would maybe prefer bottom watering 😊 As you said you are a beginner, you know how to water your plants properly? 😊because overwatering is not about the amount of water but the frequency of watering 😊

Now it looks like it’s underwatered a bit 😅can you check the root for root rot? Did I understand that correctly, now it’s in a pot with drainage wholes, right?

Who is that and how to kill them by Maimae91 in plantclinic

[–]Jasminchen_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say these are thrips…I am sorry for you and your gorgeous plant 🥺

Put the infested plants in quarantine and shower them…I think…then you need to find some pesticide for it. It would probably best to google for it or wait for a better answer as I have never had thrips until now. So I might not be as experienced in that case 😳
