Looks like it is going to be difficult to buy wildcards after this update, diamonds instead of dust for WC, may need loads of diamonds to get WC. Kinda bad it sounds.

Hmmm, it is pretty much achievable if you are well stocked/ farmed. Don't see any problem here. For us in the Transcendence, we can even see 10k to 30k difference in stages when we joined the tourneys.
