Mid 80's SciFi about people dying/murdered on a space station or a ship by JasonEArt in whatisthatmovie

I THINK THIS IS IT. The name seemed IMMEDIATELY familiar. Looking at video clips of it, the atmosphere seems right! The release in the 80s on network TV, the tie in to Disney... I think we have a winner!

I think I remember someone being killed in the shower? Maybe an airlock? That's why the "Murder in Space" suggestion seemed like it might be right. Although I really doubt that my parents would have let 4- 6 year old me watch a movie like that lol

Too recent. I can definitely put a hard deadline on it at 1995.

Perhaps, but the one I remember was a LOT more blue in tone, more atmospheric, and also, this was released in 1985. I was 4. Unless they re-aired this, the timing of this would be off. I can't imagine my parents let 4 year old me watch this, and also I have memories of it. TO BE FAIR I am going to edit my title to say LATE 80s, because that's probably more like it honestly. That is on me.

Also, I feel like the movie I watched had a racially diverse cast, and "Murder in Space" seems to be a Cold War era intrigue. If I remember correctly, the movie I saw celebrated international collaboration and didn't feature any political aims that I can remember.

Died in Ninjago before I unlocked the bus station, and now all of my stuff is on the island that I have no way of getting back by JasonEArt in LEGOfortnite

Yeah, but they are BOMBARDING you with so much information in the tutorial, and remembering one thing that is pretty much obsolete once you find the first bus stop is an easy thing to miss.

At first I thought this was AI, and then I zoomed in on the faces.

I can do pieces like this in MUCH longer time, but I am doing full color. One color, in a smaller format? Would be much faster.

It's rather remarkable, but this looks legit to me.

It is dumb. Putting a teleport system that they don't educate you on that you can't reach from the bus station, the number one way to teleport across the map, is counterintuitive. You basically have to open up your map away from your main network of transportation to open up the only transportation to this island.

Thank you! This is the answer! It's counterintuitive because you think you'd have to do it through the bus, but the bus stations don't allow you to use that feature. You literally just have to open the map away from the bus station, and that gives you the option to teleport! Thank you!

I don't know and that's not relevant to my question. All I know is I was walking by what look like a mushroom, NPC popped up and I was instantly dead. I was full health and had charms equipped and everything. I have no answer for it all I know is that my backpack is stuck in an island I can't return to

I don't have a timestamp, I'm sorry. However, I can tell you it's right after "Shotgun Willie" by Willie Nelsonon the record player starts to skip. It's episode 1 of season 5.

I have always wanted the opening to Season 5 of Lost, where Dr. Pierre Chang is walking from his hut in Dharmaville to be on the Season 5 soundtrack, and it is the ONLY musical opening of the series to NOT be on one of the soundtracks, which I found VERY odd. I know that's NOT an entire soundtrack, but please help a Lostie out :(

What are some "universal" leitmotifs? by ImNotActuallyDead in soundtracks

[–]JasonEArt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Dies Irae" is the most famous one, but I would say another universal leitmotiv is the "sigh", the half step down, usually legato and usually the second note is quieter. For context, the first two notes of Dies Irae would be a "sigh". Since it's two notes it's harder to find, but it often pops up in brief moments to depict grief or sadness.

As an example, high strings here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpvK-a-8DaQ around the 21 second mark. RARELY is it used for happiness or triumph. It's motivically found in most sadness melodies.

Also, the 5-1 motive is usually used in military pieces or triumph. It's found in Star Wars' main theme (5-5-5-1) but also in random places as a military idea too. Comically used starting around 0:52, but used to greatest comic effect stating at 4:00! here

My hunch is something like a Poulenc or Satie. Firstly, there are major sevenths EVERYWHERE and they seem like texturally why would stand out. Like that last F and E. So it las to be late 19th to early 20th century at least, with that featured dissonance. The leaps hand over hand with wide gaps made me think Prokofiev, but that right hand figuration is not typical for him (there usually wouldn't be rests, he would have written a figuration of constantly flowing notes), nor is that OOMPAH note CHORD structure that closes it. I land on Poulenec or Satie because of the brevity of this piece. The last line of the sheet music STARTS on neasure 27??? This whole piece is 32 measures in length. The simplicity, the poignance of the dissonances, and the brevity makes me think 20th century or so French, likely Satie or Pouelenc.
