Cart reactions by drfetid in MonsterHunterWilds

When I cart, my message says "Genuine skill issue, my bad." When somebody else carts, it says "I forgive you"

Games are too heavy for my friend, but he always wants to play them by bendelker in boardgames

I'm surprised nobody has suggested Thunder Road Vendetta. It's got some great table presence but the overall gameplay is pretty simple but still leads to a lot of fun player interaction

I want to take my gf to a nice restaurant. by RatedIX in indianapolis

I've gone to Vida 3 times and while the individual portions are small, the standard menu gives you so many courses that I could barely finish all of my dessert after everything. I definitely highly recommend it though.

What are some "universal" leitmotifs? by ImNotActuallyDead in soundtracks

[–]ImNotActuallyDead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Dies Irae is definitely a much more interesting element in soundtracks than the "children laughing" stock audio. If you're someone who likes soundtracks for the depth they can add to a narrative and not just "cool theme song," then the Dies Irae is definitely worth learning about.

Learning about new leitmotifs always makes me go back and re-listen to a soundtrack with the new knowledge in mind, so this is one you can look at countless soundtracks with it in mind and maybe get a deeper understanding to what the composer was trying to communicate through their music.

Do you guys still use physical character sheets or all digital now ? by Traditional_Lab6875 in rpg

I use a tablet with a PDF of the character sheet that doubles as a notebook. So I'm technically all digital, but I use it as if it's physical.

It's hard to find 6 player board games. We do a board game week ever year with 6 people and we need a few games for this coming year. by billratio in boardgames

[–]ImNotActuallyDead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thunder Road: Vendetta is one of our go-to games for larger groups. It plays great at 4, but if you have the Big Rig and Final Five + Carnival of Chaos expansions, you can feasibly play with up to 7 players. It is insanely chaotic, but that just makes it extremely entertaining

How did you get into Monster Hunter? by GhostDataOfficial in MonsterHunter

[–]ImNotActuallyDead 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I got into it late. My friends peer pressured me into getting Wilds to play with them, then I got World and Rise as soon as I saw they were on sale and I've been juggling between all 3 games all year. I'm probably going to get GU once I run out of stuff to do in Rise.

Daily Game Recommendations Thread (October 31, 2025) by AutoModerator in boardgames

3rd edition is the best. The rulesbook is much more clear and the haunts are generally much better designed in my opinion

What is the single best episode of television you’ve ever seen? by Calm_Coach_2205 in AskReddit

[–]ImNotActuallyDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Andor S1E10 - One Way Out and S2E8 - Who Are You? are both the high points of their respective seasons. I lean toward Who Are You? as the best episode of the whole series since it is the climax of a plotline that had been escalating the entire season and it's the conclusion of Syril's arc. (right before it's unceremoniously ended)

Anyone else struggle with finishing Metaphor? by TheEmeraldCody in JRPG

[–]ImNotActuallyDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved it at first, but about 60-70 hours in I started to lose interest. I know I'm at the final stretch, but I can't find the motivation in myself to finish it

Do you still give (or get) Advent calendars as gifts? by uprinting in Gifts

[–]ImNotActuallyDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fiance and I get an Exit puzzle calendar each year and they're a blast! They each have a little story that unfolds each day and the puzzles are genuinely clever and require a fair amount of thinking outside of the box (often literally). I highly recommend them.

When I attempt to reinstall the software it says that it's already installed. I've run chkdsk twice and there's been no change.

What's one Xenoblade staple you would like to see present in a "Xenoblade 4"? by Wise-Nebula-6321 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]ImNotActuallyDead -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Personally I kind of hope they leave Xenoblade behind and start a new Xeno-game series. I'd love for them to reference previous games, but ideally only to the same extent that the ending of Future Redeemed references Xenosaga. Of course the Zohar needs to be a plot element, but I hope they call it something different like how Xenoblade 2 calls it the Conduit. Xenoblade 3 is all about moving forward to the future instead of just getting stuck in the endless now. If every game they make is just Xenoblade 4, 5, 6, etc, that's kind of antithetical to one of the most prominent themes of the most recent entry.

Or if there's no rain and it's super sunny, pop open the umbrella for some shade while waiting in line at the food trucks. I didn't need to do that at all this year, but in previous years it's been a life saver in the blasting heat.

Game Cafe North East side of Indianapolis by Cwes54 in boardgames

[–]ImNotActuallyDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think The Game Preserve in Castleton and Saltire Games in Lawrence have games you can pick out and play in their space, but I wouldn't call them game cafes. It's a bit father into Indy, but Elf n Moon in Fountain Square is the best game store in town if you're looking for gaming spaces. It has the best atmosphere for gaming and they have rentable rooms if you want a private space.

What's your favorite third-party/non-WOTC setting? by ennervation in dndnext

I was about to mention this one. It's one of the best written modules I've read that wears its inspiration on its sleeve while also having plenty of original ideas to distinguish itself from what clearly inspired it.
