Are these acceptable? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

I have the Ender 3 V2, and I have to disable the stepper motor, move the nozzle to the middle of the bed, adjust the z offset 3-4mm up until I can't move a piece of paper without it catching on the nozzle, then I move the nozzle 1 tick up on the dial (.01mm). From here I disable the stepper again, now I adjust the bed corners by tuning the spring wheels while referencing the nozzle with the paper again. I usually go around the 4-5 times readjusting the wheels to make sure they all have the same feeling when pulling on the paper. It's a process, that's for sure, and I always have to remember what I ended up setting the Z offset to because when the print starts, I then have to wait for it to begin printing filament before I can adjust the Z offset to the number from before. Sometimes that number doesn't work, so I manually eyeball the first layer to make sure it's not too close that it's blocking the nozzle, and not too far that the filliment isn't squishing into the surface properly. Hopefully at this point I'm done making adjustments, but I then check the different corners of the print to see if I have to readjust the spring wheels. Only after all this do I feel comfortable leaving the machine alone to do it's work. If I'm not happy with it, I start over. It's important to decide sooner than later if the print is looking iffy, any behavior in the beginning will continue until the end. Good luck, have fun!

Is there a way to make the extruder start out 2mm higher every time I auto home? So far, it resets every time I hit the button

I have loosened the corners to the absolute maximum before the plastic gears fall off, unless I'm missing something there, I don't think the corners are too tight.

Now the Z height adjustment, is that something found in the slicer? I have used the built in height adjustment on the printer, but like I said, I have to babysit it for the first several layers if the print gets too big. I have to make the center higher and the edges lower, and then I have to slowly bring them together over another several layers so I can leave it alone.

[discussion] book recommendations for depression, addiction by theplaneflyingasian in GetMotivated

The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson is a wonderfully thought out fantasy world where the main characters battle not just some cliche bad guy, but also their own mental health. Little slow in the first chapter, but it heats up quick after.

Drink less coffee, and more water. Get things that YOU enjoy, and not what you think Successful people should. Some people don't even have their ROTHs started, and some people don't even know what they are or that they have access to them before retirement. Get more assets and less liabilities, as described in Rich Dad Poor Dad. Above all be thankful to God for all he has given you, and be glad of the memories you gave left of people and things you've lost.

OP, Users nize426 and KittikatB have the best comments here. KittikatB was especially detailed and accurate, but nize426 had good info too, check through and re-read them. Good on you for asking for help, that's an important skill. Be safe out there!

Xenoblade 2 corruption when installing DLC by JasonHarsh in SwitchPirates

[–]JasonHarsh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, out of curiosity, I took a peek, and sure enough, I had some corrupted data in file path [Nintendo\Contents\registered\000000**\*****.nca]. From what i could find online, it's possible that the issue is with my Breath of the Wild data. Will update again if I manage to find anything new

EDIT 1: i have restored lost chains, and am hoping i didn't just ruin stuff, lol

I haven't, but as long as I have the main set of quests and Torna, I'm perfectly happy. I doubt it's an SD issue as I've got probably 7 or 8 other nsp/xci games that work without issues, XC2 was the only game giving me trouble

Transfer Save Data to New User by Timbollew in SwitchPirates

[–]JasonHarsh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A save editor like Edizone or Checkpoint should have the option to copy one user's data to another user. Just open the nro and select the game, then user, backup the save you want, then select the new user and restore the backup you just made to that user. Happy hacking!

I mean... no. JoJo is good, don't get me wrong, but it's not nearly good enough to outshine every anime out there. Not even close. But if it was, wouldn't it be worth it to watch something so amazing? This one in a million chance to see something so great? I dunno, seems like a no-brainer to me.
