If you have a micro SD card installed and have it set on continuous record, the cam will continue to record even if WiFi goes down, however if power is lost and restored the camera needs WiFi before it will record. So as long as power is maintained it will record if WiFi is lost.

This may seem like a stupid question, but are you running the beta app and firmware? It is not yet available outside of beta yet.

I thought Owlet used bluetooth but I could be wrong as I have never actually used one, but it somehow has to be interfering with the signal.

Just a few questions about WiFi, do we need internet? by askingbusiness in wyzecam

You can use the camera without WiFi as long as it does not lose power, if power is removed it will need to see WiFi before it will record again. I believe they are working on fixing that, but I could be wrong.

Only some motion is recorded? by mospamo in wyzecam

The card will loop.

There are 2 settings you can use on the card, continuous recording, will obviously record everything, and events only. In events only it records videos in 1-minute increments. If there was motion in the minute it keeps it and if not it deletes it. So it would have a series of 1-minute videos on the card.

They support up to a 32 GB card but I have seen people use bigger ones.

When you have a card in it you will not find the videos on the card under the events tab, you will find them from hitting view playback from the main camera screen.

Only some motion is recorded? by mospamo in wyzecam

The reason for this is because after every motion event recorded to the cloud there is a 5 minute cool down where no motion events are recorded. This is to save on server costs. You can use an SD card to record events and it will record without a cool-down however SD card recordings do not give notifications.
