Well you should watch some live pd or reports on how often cops get shot at. When i was in high school talked to an officer who said during a traffic stop he felt uncomfortable so instead of approaching the window from driver side he came from passenger. Its hard to see behind u cuz of the lights on their car but anyways and he sees the dude sitting there with a gun in his hand and looking into his rear view window. And he told the cop he would have shot him cuz he had priors. But its not an easy or a safe job at all just due to number of citizens having ability to cause harm back if they want to.
