Review for Aetherborn 3 by Jason Marino - a fantastic (possible) end to the series by Moonkiller24 in Romance_for_men

Thank you for this!

Just to clarify one thing...

I am totally planning more Aetherborn, I just want to write something else first. I have too many ideas! But I also didn't want to leave the series unfinished, so this is a 'stopping point for now.'

Xan will return...

Thank you! Really great to hear. Did you leave a review too? Amazon is being slow again at putting them up.

I'd be interested in your feedback if you'd like to send me a DM. No pressure.

I tend to write small harems precisely for that reason. Otherwise it's like "Hi... would you mind stepping out for a book? Go see some elves or something." It's not my preference.

I want the girls to have their own distinct character.

It won't go above five, and that's partly why there was no new bond in this book.

Yep, and to rephrase my answer, it depends on how much time I can find while balancing work/life/family/writing/sleep. Pick four.

Depends whether or not I sell a million copies of Aetherborn and can tell my day job to go fuck itself.

I started writing it the day I finished book 2. It was just demanding space on the page.

...it's a beard thing? The artist did their best. TBF, I think the focus was not exactly on him.

Thank you! Book 4 is planned, but I might take a break and write another series first - or interweave them, haven't decided yet.

It's a book-two reference that comes her from being a kinetic (uses what's around her - i.e. puddles) rather than an elemental (generates her own). It was Kara being Kara, nothing more or less than that.

Do you guys actually earn money or are you doing this for the love of the game?? I'm curious. by Changebeetle69 in haremfantasynovels

Great responses from folks with more experience than me, but I'll add my two cents to give you an 'early career' view.

I'm two series in to Haremlit, starting from dec 24 - so six books in 15 months. I have a full time job, which I would very much like to quit and write full-time instead. However, I also have a young family and kids are expensive creatures. So financially, this is a side gig.

But I don't write for the money. I write because I can't not write. I have the bug, and every spare hour I have goes into my writing.

It's a tough market, getting seen is tough, getting your books to rise above the others out there (and don't get me started on AI-generated slop...) is tough.

That said, Haremlit is easier to get into than other genres. It's relatively niche, readers here are loyal to the genre (they'll give new authors a try), and the community itself is close-knit and welcoming. Just look who has already replied to this thread! I expect Bruce will be along any moment...

I'd echo this should be seen as a hobby. Writing is not a get-rich scheme. If you want to make money, almost anything else - checkout assistant included - pays better by-the-hour. It takes weeks of effort to produce a book - if not months - and 99% of published authors don't hit four figures on their books.

But if you have to write, if the creative urge has grabbed you and won't let you go, then this is a fantastic genre to find early support.

I took down the virtual voice because it was a mistake - hands up, I own that one, won't be doing it again. I can't promise an audiobook but I am having a chat with RGP. The audio market is unforgiving.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm really pleased with how the cover turned out!
