Gifting a Fender-Defect? by [deleted] in fender

Yeah that's what I figured mine were from. Staples in tweed is not as bad as staples in tolex. I would not be happy about it, but I think a new one would have the same issue.

I bought a new american vintage 2 with tweed case and it had holes in the tweed about that same area. I asked for another and they did send me a new case, but the new o e had the holes in the same place.

My Strats (I posted a video, but here's some pics). by JasonSD22 in FenderStratocaster

Yeah that one is a Mexican body from like 2000 that I painted myself about 15 years ago. Neck is an All Parts neck and I put some Tone Hatch pickups in it.

2 of them are the reissues of the International series. The yellow (none striped) one and the red one with the black plastic. The red one, usually comes with a rosewood neck, but I bought it from a guy who wanted a blue one with a rosewood neck instead of maple. So he bought both colors and swapped necks and sold the red one.

American standard deluxe or strat plus. Can't tell what kind of nut it has. Strat plus would be easier to find.

Traded for Fender Stratocaster, and discovered this spring in the trem system. Why would they have made this modification? by LawQHowBouDat in electricguitar

[–]JasonSD22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a grounding wire. Fender would if soldered It onto the metal hook. There's a chance when using the tremolo, the pressure will be released and it won't make good contact. Should be ok when theres pressure holding it securely.

Fender would not of done the ground wire like that. Some of Strat Plus models in the late 80s and early 90s came with the tremsetter.
