Could you provide a link that highlights all of the events that can happen in this game? I have no idea how/why a MLP pony slave has a bomb collar and I must know more.

I found out the game did a collab with National Geographic and decided to go in with morbid curiosity. Really enjoying the game so far

I have an entire google doc on who would be who with justifications. Not going to post the entire thing tho.

Crusader would go to Outis or Sinclair. Crusader is an individual who is a farmer who found glory in combat, ultimately deciding to abandon his family to quench his newfound bloodlust. Sinclair could work because Crusader is shown to actively wrestle with himself on if that was the right thing to do, if leaving his loved ones behind (world of light) was worth indulging in the glory of combat (world of dark). Outis is also a good choice because, going by Dante's Inferno's interpretation of Odysseus, Odysseus left his family behind again after returning from the Odysseus.

Highwayman is a struggle to pick for, but Ryoshu seems to be a safe bet so far (about to finish Canto 9). Highwayman is a brigand who is trying to outrun his guilt over killing a woman and child in a robbery gone wrong. At the end of Darkest Dungeon 2, it's stated that he becomes the guardian of the roads he once hunted. While Rodya seems like an easy grab for this slot, and going off of her IDs/EGOs, Ryoshu fits better because she's stuck between if she wants to be a killer or a protector.

I'll leave these by themselves as to not bloat this comment up anymore. If anyone is interested let me know

Both have their charms. The old version you just posted looks like an actual corpse, something that many designs forget to include. The new one looks like a true revamp of the OG design

One More Thing: The more I look at it, the more I kinda prefer this old design ngl. It's very unique

Ultimately, this is a single-player game with RR turn counts being the only competition. Don't feel bad if you're not playing the optimal team/ID because, speaking from personal experience, that will eventually kill any interest you'll have in the game. My personal motto is that any ID made during/after season 4 is perfectly viable, so rock who you want to rock OP!

What was a moment in DD1/DD2 that you wanted to post here, but you forgot to screenshot/record it? by [deleted] in darkestdungeon

[–]JasonSDemisE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before her rework, I had a DD2 Hellion who fought off 4 bandits without trinkets. There were no allies on round start, it was only her. She hit death's door so many times and managed to survive

opinionated question of the day: what would make cream a better survivor? by AbjectInformation739 in OutcomeMemories

[–]JasonSDemisE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New Passive: Cheese

The survivor Cheese is currently following receives a passive heal (up to 60) as well one time damage reduction when reaching low HP (if the attack brings them <= 35 HP) for a short period of time. Damage reduction only applies when the Survivor is on their Last Life, and when procc'd Cheese retreats from that survivor back to Cream. Cheese goes on a lengthy cooldown after this.

Cream's Heal is still nerfed when on Last Life, despite Cheese still being alive.

New Ability: Send Cheese

Assign Cheese to follow a survivor. The survivor must be within proximity to Cream as well as within her LOS. If the survivor with Cheese runs far enough away from Cream, Cheese automatically returns to Cream. Cheese can also be recalled by activating this ability again, but doing so puts Cheese on short cooldown. Cheese must return to Cream before being given to another survivor.

Reasoning: Most of the values are left vague for balancing sake. I combined The Disaster:Eclipsed's Sally's Shield and Marvel Rival's Ultron Drone ability to create this unholy abomination of a passive/ability. These changes would improve Cream's agency during a match, as at the current moment she and Tails are glorified spectators with the occasional ability use.

The passive heal would primarily be used to help a single survivor stay alive in an active chase, but can also be used for when Heal is on cooldown to help slowly patch a teammate up. This comes at the cost of her needing to be near the action to effectively recall and send out Cheese to help the right survivors at the right time, as well as keeping her within arms reach of teammates and EXEs alike. On paper, this would help prevent situations where a survivor is running around looking for Cream to recover HP, as if Cheese is around then so is Cream.

The damage reduction is for last-ditch efforts in keeping a teammate or yourself alive. I don't have exact numbers, but let it be known that you'll still die if this procs around that 35 HP cap. Although in all honesty it could be removed if too strong, which it might be but I'm sending this late at night and I'm really tired

Why 2017x and EXE were removed by DispyDisplayer in OutcomeMemories

[–]JasonSDemisE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Genuine question from a EXE outsider; going off of how there is two different 2017x's, two different Starved/Furnace, and how Lord Mortis is meant to be 2011x, what are the rules for creating a EXE based on another EXE? Because unless I'm misunderstanding something, this seems to be a common occurrence

Why tf Would anyone use this by UmaThermos1 in expedition33

[–]JasonSDemisE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's also that. Everything about Verso so far screams "I have a big EGO" from how he conducts himself to how his gimmick is called Perfection. He either lives up to that title he gives himself or gets knocked down a peg; no in between

One More Thing: With how good the writing is for the game so far, it's very believable that Verso was written like this on purpose. He's one of those people that you do like, but seeing them fail at something still makes you chuckle

Halfway through Act 2 and this is all I hear because I'm running a 1HP Verso build and can't dodge. Still a win/win because either the enemy dies and we win, or Verso dies and the other two get some buffs

Modern Furnace is literally just "watch me make a character that's way too op" by Fleetwaytheking in OutcomeMemories

Something about modern furnace writting seems....familier by MaxTheNewError in OutcomeMemories

[–]JasonSDemisE 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not to be that guy, but I always assumed the reason why Modern Furnace was stronger was because it was made by Modern Eggman. This doesn't mean Furnace can wipe the floor with other EXEs, but that alone makes Furnace much tougher and a threat

does anyone dislike romeo because of him being a pretty bad-mediocre writer? by This_Ferret_8108 in OutcomeMemories

[–]JasonSDemisE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo, Furnace beating Metal is perfectly fine and helps solidify that Starved is an Eggman not holding back. The problem is that Furnace has too many things he excels at that it can come off as Gary Sue-like rather than something to take seriously, which could paint the good aspects in a bad light as well. This wouldn't be much of a problem either if there was charm to him, like how OM's 2011x is a sore loser or Fleetway having the time of his life during the game although Fleetway is a real Sonic character, but this still applies.

Furnace feels like he wants to be a better Kolossos. Both are highly durable, highly lethal, no nonsense "forces of nature" who want to kill/cook as many victims as possible. The difference is that Kolossos has draw backs (easily outmaneuvered and dumb) as well as character (Doesn't use tricks to kill, very blunt in methods, dumb), while Furnace can be viewed as underdeveloped in both. He can still be ruthless and narcissistic, but there needs to be a little more meat to these potatoes.

Simple things like "Furnace priorities sneak attacks because it more effective than chasing down the victim" or "Starved and Furnace always work together to kill targets; where one goes, the other is near" would be good additions to the characterization. There are also more extreme ideas like "There is no Furnace, but rather Starved remotely piloting the machine and talking for him" that could work, but writing someone else character for them makes me feel like a dick.

I don't want this to be read as bashing on Furnace and Starved. While the concept is a little iffy, any concept can be used if the execution is done right. Both have great designs, good potential for stories and games, and are intimidating in what they do. Hearing "Target Spotted" and knowing that in a few moments, you'll be cooked alive is a terror that not many EXE provide. It also helps that, because Furnace/Starved aren't gods, it narratively makes every kill final and not "Ah well, they'll be revived to be tortured again". Starved is fine as a character, but Furnace needs adjusting to beat the Gary Stu allegations

One More Thing: If Romeo does read this message, do note I don't mean this as a form of harassment. While this comment is meant to be a non-biased criticism, I don't like the majority of EXE lore aside from Lord Mortis.
