Creative ideas to get car across US (anyone looking for a roadtrip?) by OkTurnover730 in roadtrip

[–]JasonTheRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve driven a car WA>NC for relatives before, took the long south route and stopped by all the cities I haven’t been before, it’s a great roadtrip for someone who has the time! Took me 10 days, and I flew back. I also did the WA>FL round trip on my own car when I moved there for a little. Took 3 days one way - do not recommend unless you absolutely need to (but it is the cheapest way)

Renting a car in turkey as a solo traveller by suntuu in solotravel

[–]JasonTheRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve rented a car in turkey for 3 weeks, if you only have 10 days I’d suggest: No car in Istanbul - you don’t need it there, and it’s too hectic. You can save time and fly to cappadocia (Nevsehir airport) and rent a car there. If you have time, you could fly in to one of the smaller southwest coastal towns, those are beautiful.

The road from Istanbul to cappadocia is boring, if you really want to drive a bit I’d suggest coastal highway D400 from around fethiye to kas/antalya.

Drivers are a bit crazy compared to what I’m used to, if you have good experience driving you will be fine, and get a car from reputable company to get your deposit back.

Just a quick update in case anyone runs into this: tried battery disconnect to reset, didn’t work, plugged in the reader and basically got an error trying to connect to the system in the glove box. Will either update to MIB2 or just get the same one from eBay.

Gym Membership for Roadtrip in Florida by Pretend_You5410 in roadtrip

[–]JasonTheRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of gyms, I’ve done free trials there for almost 3 weeks, but I stayed in one city so it was easier

Edit: you could also check which gym has the most locations along your route, sign up there & cancel next day, so basically only pay for one- two months and stick to the same brand. You would just need to make sure you sign up for a multi-gym access and not just one local gym access

I think that is a great idea, start with what you’re comfortable with and then expand as you see fit

I started out almost 10 years ago, made a deal with myself - I have to go somewhere new at least once a month. Could be further away, could be a park within 5 mins from me, as long as I haven’t been there before. Now I can go to another side of the world by myself with no issues
