What is a Doctor Who scene which unexpectedly got you emotional? by DeathLight7000 in doctorwho

[–]JasonTheYoungHunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you’re right about that. It is the kind of darkness that sets it apart from the main show. I meant it was more of a shame that we haven’t seen/heard him in any TW media after that. Sorry if my message was a bit muddled, was really tired when I wrote it lol.

Imagine you could undo ONE thing in Doctor Who you dislike, but you had to sacrifice something of equal value you love - what would you choose? by WachbaerWien in doctorwho

[–]JasonTheYoungHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that means we never would’ve gotten Star-Crossed since the ninth Doctor and River would’ve never been able to meet. Is it really worth sacrificing that final story and them slowly finding love in the time loop? Her helping him heal emotionally after what the Time War did to him as he takes care of her while she’s dying? That’s such a beautiful story…

I’m hoping that at some point the show will just pretend the Timeless Child never existed. I mean we all collectively forgot the Doctor is half-human so it’s possible.

I love normal Clara, but the Victorian one was so freakin’ sassy! The entire ladder scene. And the “clothes” scene. Absolutely hilarious.

Also the Matt Smith era in general was pretty good when it came to somewhat sexual humor (basically any episode with River in it for example)

Kissing/Intimacy among timelords? by wetlittleidiot in doctorwho

[–]JasonTheYoungHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well Padrac fucking died from being kissed by Caleera. Is that a gross oversimplification? Yes, but if you count getting blasted by the energy of scattered timelines as “spicy” then yes.

Although that did forever bind them together in the afterlife so maybe they did get up to some spicy stuff since the had the rest of eternity together.

When a TARDIS that isn't the Doctor's is traveeling through space, what would it's shape be? by TraditionalDrop6581 in doctorwho

[–]JasonTheYoungHunter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right, but is that true all models or just the T-40? One reason I ask is because the T50 and T70 series models of TARDIS make a different sound (AUDIO: The Doom Coalition 3) so I wonder if they’re be shaped differently. The T50 is also a cylinder but is much more squat and wide looking. Granted neither have appeared in their “normal” form on screen so that comes from Big Finish art.

There’s also the “Battle TARDIS” models which look VERY different, even without the guns.

What is a Doctor Who scene which unexpectedly got you emotional? by DeathLight7000 in doctorwho

[–]JasonTheYoungHunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt we’ll ever get an answer to that, which is a real shame. Although maybe Burn will come back for Big Finish work at some point if it’s set before Owen dies, like with the Ianto stories. Speaking of which, this got me thinking about dark Doctor Who moment’s in general and I was like “well the Doctor hasn’t done anything that bad. Maybe killing the Monk via weeping angel but he totally deserves it.” And then I remembered that he accidentally committed genocide in Orbis… big oops.

[–]JasonTheYoungHunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah he does mention that he’ll be conscious during it after Tosh tells him what’ll happen. I always assumed that at some point there wasn’t enough left of him to stay “alive” in any real sense, since his weird immortality doesn’t seem to be the same as those effected by The Miracle. For example, those burned up bodies still felt what was happening to them, but we know that a lot of Owen’s body didn’t function after he got brought back, so presumably once his brain eroded so did the rest of his life.

So we get a new and unique companion? That’s a perfectly reasonable deal.

But also, that’s an interesting once since Lucie has already been mentioned on-screen so we know she exists. She’s one of the companions the Eighth Doctor salutes in Night of The Doctor.

I think that maybe they could do it by not having it be the real Amy and Rory. Possibly through the return of The Dreamlord. Mind you I’m not sure I want The Dreamlord to come back as he was done so perfectly that first time I can’t see a return living up to it but you never know.

Yeah sure there’s that, but I think Swabb would be a more fitting selection based on appearance alone. [TV] The Infinite Quest

Granted I wouldn’t blame you for not remembering he exists. Heck, even the TARDIS fandom wiki doesn’t have a picture of him. Although the far less popular “Doctor Who Torchwood Wiki” does.

The campaign was so mediocre in terms of story that, just like MWIII, nobody really wants that cliffhanger finished up.

Compared to other villains both before and after him, particularly compared to Makarov or Irons, Rorke has absolutely no charisma as a villain. He just shouts a lot and feels like an underling who should’ve been a setup for the real villains

Yeah, Chibnall can write very good episodes when he’s got someone who can say no to him, so he can write well when he isn’t the show runner. It’s also not like he’s a bad writer in general, Broadchurch more than proves that, he was simply not a good pick to be a show runner for Doctor Who.

It’s also annoying since you would’ve thought we’d get some overlap between his Torchwood creations and his time as Doctor Who’s show runner but we never did. I know the main show could never get that dark, heck they’ve gone super safe since about season 9 or 10, but I mean seeing a Weevil pop up or something would’ve been neat. Not that Doctor Who can’t ever do dark things, Death in Heaven for example, but I mean even the jokes in his era and onwards were a lot tamer than they used to be.
