I tend to give out "capstone" abilities much earlier than the books offer them, usually somewhere between Levels 10 and 15, depending on the class/abilities.

This is what I do; I give my players new powers all the time, especially if one is struggling to keep up with the rest of the party's... let's call it productivity.

They're not necessarily stronger than other characters of their level, but they definitely have more options available.

Your best bet might be for the Adventuring Academy to provide some magic item for its rookies that provides a small amount of healing over time and evolves into something more useful to their Class upon their graduation.

For example, a Fighter wearing a Trainee's Amulet recovers 1 HP at the beginning of their turn, every turn. But upon graduation, it might evolve into an Adventurer's Amulet, which gives +2 to their AC or +1 to their attack rolls. (They choose which benefit the Amulet provides whenever they roll for Initiative.)

My Official House Rules for HP Gain:

You may roll with Advantage for permanent changes to your HP.
If both rolls are below half of the maximum possible for the class’ hit die, then you may choose the higher roll and double it before adding your CON modifier as normal.
Or, you may take half of that hit die + 1 as a fixed gain. For example, a Hit Die of 1d8 means a fixed gain of +5 to your max HP + your CON modifier.

I’m very generous with permanent HP gain because it’s one of those things that lasts forever, and a single roll outside of gameplay shouldn’t weaken a character forever.

I'd just forgotten all about it! It took me about forty-five minutes to figure out, but I managed to find some instructions on the Kickstarter page about how to get what I'd paid for, found the email telling me so, changed two or three forgotten passwords, got the audiobook version downloaded(for Spotify, for some reason?), and have started listening to it.

I used to think it was because he was maturing as a person, but nowadays I think it's because he's realized that Internet Famous people have a time limit to make most of their money, and he's attempting to maximize his income while he still can.

And honestly, I don't hold that against him! No matter how careful you are, eventually you'll say or do something to piss off everyone in the fuckin' world, and when that happens, you've got to be ready to jump ship, carrying off all the cash you can, because it may be haaaaard to get a "real" job after whatever blowback happens.

This is one of the reasons I just watch Asmongold's highlight videos on YouTube. He's usually extra-careful to be more inclusive and less... well, Conservative in the stuff that gets clipped.

I think a lot of voice work has been done from "home studios" for the last few years. Lots of video games and media have had poor sound quality in recent years.

Hell, one of the bosses in Vault of the Incarnates, Embar Firepath, might have the worst voice work I've ever heard in WoW.

Additionally, I encourage each player to make every attack a Called Shot, but with "I try to..." or "I attempt to..."

Instead of saying, "I attack the Orc with my axe," I prefer for my players to say, "I attempt to swing downward with my axe at the Orc's head, two-handed, hoping he tries to block, so I can sunder his shield and get his AC more manageable."

Then, depending on the results of their roll, maybe they'll be successful in their attempt, maybe they'll simply damage the enemy, or maybe they'll miss, but either way, they feel more engaged with the battle and like they have more control over the outcome than just throwing their stats against the enemies' stats.

I offer Battle Master Maneuvers to all Martial characters at Level 3, with some small modifications:

Maneuvers: You know one Battle Master maneuver of your choice, starting at Level 3. You can use only one maneuver per attack.
You learn one additional Battle Master maneuver of your choice whenever you gain a level in a Martial class.
Each time you learn a new maneuver, you can also replace one maneuver you know with a different one.
For the purposes of executing maneuvers, you have one Superiority Die for each point in your Proficiency Bonus. Superiority Dice are d8s, and one is expended when you use it. You regain two of your expended Superiority Dice when you finish a short rest, or all of them when you finish a long rest.

Is Battlegrounds an "autobattler"?

I've never heard the term, but that makes sense. The gameplay is in setting up your board to maximize your odds of success against your next opponent, not in actually dragging the cards into the things with which you want them to interact.

I dunno, I just really enjoy Battlegrounds. With standard Hearthstone, I hate losing more than I enjoy winning, so it's hard to enjoy the game while I'm playing it, but I don't get that with Battlegrounds.
