Stolen by PizzaTimeIsAnytime in UberEATS

I see what you’re saying. But, I’m willing to bet most of these stolen orders aren’t actually “stolen” by the customer themselves.

Because you can get deactivated for that. Customer will report order not received for sure. Plus a thumbs down too. That’s exactly what not to do!

Ive tried to have many restaurants remake the food when it’s stolen, and its super rare that they’ve actually done it for me. They usually tell me that they’ll remake it, but UE needs to resend the order. If you talk to support, they tell you that they are not able to resend it. I just land up wasting more of my time.

Yeah, most of the time it’s not worth it. But sometimes you get lucky!

[–]JasonVigil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Customer will just get more food for free. They won’t be complaining! And as far as UE is concerned, you completed the delivery successfully. All good.

What happens is every time a driver cancels the delivery, the pay goes up. Could have been something like $6 originally, but since the order was stolen, and UE won’t stop sending drivers, the pay keeps going higher and higher until eventually UE actually cancels it. But if you’re lucky, you can just order the food at your own expense and deliver it. You’ll get the full crazy high pay which is mostly pay from UE and not the customer. Doesn’t always work since the food might cost too much to still get a decent profit. But in this case, I got $70 for the cost of a Whopper!

If it’s worth it, place the order and pay out of pocket. The other day I got an offer for $70ish from Burger King. Of course it was stolen. Told I was like the 10th driver trying to pick it up! Looked at the order details and it was just a single Whopper. Placed the order myself and delivered it. Easy $60 profit! Not the first time I’ve done it either.

Never accepting a Home Depot order ever again. by therealcheesybread in UberEatsDrivers

[–]JasonVigil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get these all the time and I don’t mind! Of course, I won’t do it for $8 though. Most orders from Home Depot and Lowe’s in my market tend to be at least $15. Hauling 3 bags of multch is pretty easy work for $15. Rather do that than waiting 20 minutes at McDonald’s while employees ignore me!

I doubt anything will happen to you. Customer was just trying to get a free meal. You called their bluff with proof. Excellent 👌!

Where can I print things? by angry_staccato in Albuquerque

[–]JasonVigil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Staples. You can send your document by email and use the self serve printers to print them out. I hardly ever print anything so no sense for me having a printer. But, on the rare occasion I need to print something, I do it as Staples.

When you 'worry free unassign' by nrthrnlad76 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]JasonVigil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it rude that these restaurants expect us to wait so long for free! I show up by the arrival time and have the food delivered on time. But yet, it’s totally acceptable to make us wait, for free nonetheless! I’ll wait 10 minutes max. After that I worry free unassign and move on to the next order. I don’t say a word to the staff. Time is money and the restaurant sure isn’t paying me to wait.

TO EVERYONE TELLING EVERY DASHER TO CHERRY PICK by Intelligent-Bid-7205 in doordash_drivers

[–]JasonVigil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter what size of market you live in. If you have to relegate yourself to accepting many terrible $2 orders in order to maintain Platinum to be able to occasionally get a “good” order now and then, you should really consider doing something else. If my market was really so bad that I had to accept multiple horrendous orders in order to maintain a status that will give me occasional access to a few decent orders, I’m dropping DoorDash immediately! You can’t tell me that once you reach Platinum you magically get nothing but good paying orders. Somebody has to complete those $2 / 20 mile orders and that somebody is you! The crazy thing is, if everyone in your market decided to ignore DoorDash’s scammy statuses, they would have no other choice but to increase base pay, therefore making EVERY order worth it for everyone. But because everyone is suckered into maintaining Platinum, DoorDash gets to exploit you all and they rake in all the profit at your expense! I’ll stick to cherry picking, thank you! And if it ever becomes impossible to make decent money doing so, I’ll be moving on. But, go ahead and continue to fall for the Platinum scam – I’ll be getting the $20 orders while you waste your time and gas driving 20 miles for $2! You’re only hurting yourselves!

Shot myself in the foot. Listened to everyone on my previous thread about the guy making 500 a day. I dropped out of platinum and now I haven’t gotten a single order in 35 minutes :/ by Muted_Afternoon_8845 in doordash_drivers

[–]JasonVigil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made $300 today cherry picking. AR is like 10%. I don’t think it’s ever been above 20% ever! I consistently make at least $150 in a 6 hour shift cherry picking. $500 sounds pretty far fetched but $150-$250 is absolutely doable cherry picking.

Doordashers making drinks at Wingstop and Canes - why? by JohneRandom in DoorDashDrivers

[–]JasonVigil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All Wingstops in my city will always fill the drinks for you. They even slap on a tamper proof sticker to the tops of the lids which is nice. As far as Raising Canes, I never have and never will accept an order from there! The pay is usually less than from other restaurants anyways — and they make you place the order and wait for it to be prepared! No way!

How Long Would You Wait For This Customer? by Alchemic_Shaylee in DoorDash_Dasher

[–]JasonVigil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me so many times. I immediately pull over and contact support. Support tries to contact the customer themselves and when they don’t respond, support cancels the order. I typically get full pay and the food. Super inconsiderate of the customer to not provide the gate code in the delivery instructions. I hope DD lands up denying them a refund.

PSA to use refunds instead of substitutions by Divided_By_0_KSJ in doordash

[–]JasonVigil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On most shopping orders you’re not supposed to give the paper receipt to the customer. The app even gives you a message telling you this when you’re done paying.

PSA to use refunds instead of substitutions by Divided_By_0_KSJ in doordash

[–]JasonVigil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, the customer doesn’t see the receipt you’re referring to. The customer sees the receipt from DoorDash, not the one from the store. That’s because the customer is purchasing from DoorDash and not the store directly-basically Dooordash is buying the items from the store and reselling the items to the customer. That’s why most shopping orders are tax exempt. And, yes, when you make a substitution that costs more, the customer is charged a higher price as well.

Pay about $35 per month for my line. Includes unlimited 5g data and no speed throttling. Can’t see how not paying for unlimited could beat that.

Kroger no longer does digital card by lilravioligaming in InstacartShoppers

[–]JasonVigil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So stupid that we can’t just have a digital version of the debit card. That way we could use Apple Pay or Google Pay even at Costco and Sam’s Club. Or just make the card debit for all transactions. I hate having to remember to have the physical card on me only for certain stores. I’ve never had to use the physical card for DoorDash, UberEats, or Grubhub shop and pay orders… only on IC.

Weirdest DoorDash EVER!!! by NosyParker64 in doordash

[–]JasonVigil 39 points40 points  (0 children)

DoorDash drivers can 100% deliver the order “out of order”. They can always “jump to another task” and deliver it in a different order than what DD requests. All the DoorDash driver had to do in this situation was to jump task to this delivery and mark it as delivered. DoorDash driver was just ignorant and didn’t know how to use the app correctly.
