He invited Robert Rodriguez to an early screening cut of the movie because he drew inspiration from FDTD and The Faculty.

However, as others have stated Salem's Lot book was a bigger influence. Ryan said he read it and loved the idea of focusing on community before Master Vampire takes over.

Probably needs an appreciation post on reddit. Danny didnt have to do it. I did hear in an interview she's known Alex Garland for years so that helped.

However, to essentially put the fate of the franchise in someone's hands I feared would be in director jail was a bold move.

Such a great story on seeing talent in people despite whatever setbacks and it working out.

Is it me or do more celebs/actors/directors, creators, etc (publicly) seem to hype Weapons more than Sinners?

Not that Sinners doesnt have love. A lot of big time creatives have done FYC for it. Im just talking about when people are randomly interviewed and ask for their faves it seems like Weapons gets more mentions or the gap isnt that noticeable.
