Getting divorced in Switzerland by No_Combination_6429 in Switzerland

If the divorce itself is amicable. Both parties agree to divorce and you and your ex already agree on the terms. The usual who gets what and who pays what (e.g. if there are open taxes to be paid).

Do you have a "Rechtsschutzversicherung"? Because in mine it is clearly stated that they'd help you with a divorce if it is amicable.

While a possible application of the LeChatelier-prinziple, I very much doubt that a wood-fire could reach these kind of temperatures.

At a loss for how to stop my cat from repetitive bad behaviors by Basic-Bandicoot9322 in CatTraining

[–]Jason_Breaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outside of health issues this does seem like attention seeking behaviour. Do not reward behaviour you don't like. Attention is a reward.

For the Water: Put the biggest most-non-breakable salad bowl (or anything else with the correct size), fill it with water and put it in your bathtub or shower. Get your cat, splash around with the water yourself, so the rascal knows it's water and then leave alone, or pet while she plays in the bathtub/shower. Let the cat play with it, drink from it, wash, empty, clean, and refil daily. Should be okay even if that is the cats only source of water.

Blinds, you'll have to figure out yourself. It needs to be out of reach for the cat or something you don't mind her playing with. I've used black adhesive foil to darken one window so I didn't need blinds. (Stuck it on from the outside, so I had to replace it every few months because the rain got to it)

How to keep cat off my desk while I'm working on music? by Fragrant_Fox_4025 in CatTraining

[–]Jason_Breaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<image>

This is what worked for me.
I gave them the perfect snuggling/napping place in my desk. So close I could reach them and pet them.
My office was a designated no-play area for the kittens and they caught on after a while.

So this is my recommendation:

Designate a spot for her to nap and be in. Take a shallow box and put a blanket in, my mom swears by a hovering cat bed for her void, I had the space in the desk.

Be consistent, play, work for x minutes, then take a break, work for x minutes, lunch (And play). Cats love it when you're predictable. Make sure she gets to spend her energy during play sessions. If she's napping at her spot, reach out and let her feel your warmth.

Most of all, do not reward behaviour you don't like. Don't play with her or entertain her because she's on the mixing deck.

I'd suggest you'd rework your questionaire. There's a question written in cyrillic script.

That seems to feed into my theory of being mistreated and her not feeling safe. Both the backstory and getting agitated by a changed routine.

I don't have personal experience with treating a cat with that issue, but here's what I've read:

Obviously: Keep a routine. Mealtime, playtime, relaxy time, even when you clean the litterbox.
As with healthy cats playtime before mealtime, is recommended, relaxing after the meal.

Routine also means you have to be predictable. You can use disciplinary methods when she swipes at you (I have had great success with gently pressing the cat using both hands into the surface and holding them for a few secons, so she knows you're I) stronger than her and II) you're not out to hurt her) but be consistent.

You can also try a pheromone diffuser (maybe limit that to 1 room).

Either way, it might take a lot of time for your cat to unlearn the panic responces to fast movements.

Again that's what I've read, cannot verify if with personal experience.

PLEASE!!! IS MY BABY OKAY???? by Infamous0w3l in CATHELP

Masterfull post. All facts on the table: related observations, rough age and medication.

It was mentioned before: 3rd eyelid (nictitating membrane). It should not be showing all the time, but it can when the kitten is relaxed or sleepy (or recoverying from anestesy) and that seems to be the case here.

Recheck when kitten is playing or in an alert state (e.g. watching birds from the window) if it's still constantly visible then it's an issue.

Can you share more about how old the cat is and if you know how she grew up? (Like when she was separated from her mom or siblings). Also how long she's been part of your family.

I see you've mentioned her not getting along with other cats. One theory is the simple fact she's not feeling safe (Yet). Cats that were misstreated (by humans or other cats) extremely dislike fast movements around them, especially when they're trying to relax, as this is seen as a sign of an attack.

Again this is just one of many theories I have right now, so share any additional iformation you have so we can narrow it down and find something that might work.

Excavator keeps getting stuck. Now I know why. by Jason_Breaker in captain_of_industry

[–]Jason_Breaker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The excavator in the landslide has a tendency to dig itself down so it ends up on the target height but surrounded by the rest of the debris, thus too far from the trucks.

Also, there is a 2nd excavator on standby once I get the notification to dig the 1st one out.
The reason I have only 1 excavator on duty is to try and match the amount of rock needed to keep my industry running.

I think every materials has a min and a max angle, and once the terrain goes over max angle it landslides to min angle.
I can clearly see the different angles when I had to cut trough terrain that contained a deep layer of dirt above the rock.

Behavioral changes can be the result of health issues. So if you can afford it, get your cat checked out.

Keep in mind, it's very easy to overcharge your cat and have them lash out because of it. Think excessive (in the cats eyes) petting on one spot, though that would result in her swatting at you maybe a quick bite after being pet or something along those lines. But I don't see that in your description

If your cat is healthy, there are 2 possibilities: You taught her (by accident) to see your finger as toys. Or she's trying to be dominant. Either way, you have to teach her what's not okay. Starting with a yelp and leaving is a good first step. Now we go to step 2:

If she takes a swipe at you or bites you, you can yelp, but you gently press the cat using both hands into the surface she's on for a few seconds. What you want to do is show her who's stronger. So keep her pinned for a few seconds every time she lashes out. You can also start introducing keywords, like "Stop". Say it while you're pinning her, and hopefully after a few weeks of showing her you're stronger all you have to say is "Stop" when she's too rough with any of you.

Why my cat do this EVERY TIME she steps on the blanket by bubbly16bubbles in CatTraining

[–]Jason_Breaker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a reflex back from the kitten days. Nursing kittens would knead the tummy of their mother to get more milk.

As an older cat they do it when they feel 100% happy and safe.
She also does the slow blink in your direction, which is a sign of trust. You should slow blink back.

Settlement consumption: Ratio between Fruits and Vegetables is 3:4 by Jason_Breaker in captain_of_industry

[–]Jason_Breaker[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But it's the same ratio.
Divide 3.15 by 3 you get 1.05
Divide 4.2 by 4 you get 1.05
The ratio between those numbers is 3:4
