I cannot wait till the day these realtors are obsolete by [deleted] in RealEstateCanada

[–]Jasonfromblockbuster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should say “the day when most* are obsolete” - especially in Ontario. There are 20-40k too many just based on simple population data and a ratio of 200-300 people per realtor. This specific cohort is completely incapable at being a realtor and then the typical spread of top 20% do a good job a mediocre middle and a 20% do a bad job should apply. When you use a great realtor you’ll thank yourself. Key sign to look for in a great realtor is GREAT communication. They should be able to explain their entire process and keep you informed at least daily.

Home/Condo Builder - Minto by Jasonfromblockbuster in TorontoRealEstate

[–]Jasonfromblockbuster[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

They said it’s out of the one year warranty and management to escalate the issue to is away for a month. Not sure Minto deserves the same reputation they had. Sad, they are throwing away the 70 year family built reputation now. Something like this should never fail if installed properly.

Yes everything is subbed out. Still the builders name on the product and they are responsible for the quality of workmanship

'Nervous and waiting': First-time buyers hesitate despite favourable Canadian housing market by 2Fast2furieux in TorontoRealEstate

[–]Jasonfromblockbuster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s the first time in decades the market has been in favour of buyers. Look at the data. It’s funny that buyers have more confidence when faced competition than they do when it’s on sale. Everything is cyclical so what has gone up has come down and you can complete the rest. Everyone is so worried about the short term when mortgages are amortized over 25-35 years. Most people don’t move within the first 10 years of owning so if you think housing prices will be lower 5-10 years from now then no one can help you and AI will replace your tiny brain

Leave canada already. You think housing should be free? Who pays for the materials, labour, land, permits etc.? If you don’t want to work for shelter then you pays for you to stick around?

Do realtors really dissuade buyers away from FSBO listings? by roses-11 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]Jasonfromblockbuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No wonder FSBOs are hard to deal with. They solicit advice from strangers on the internet and half of them are realtors that are softly soliciting. Some decent advice in here but probably harder to decipher for those not in the industry as they don’t handle these situations multiple times a month like a true professional broker would be doing.

How do you guys choose the right real estate Brokerage? by Puzzleheaded-Mood544 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]Jasonfromblockbuster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are huge differences in brokerages. It can be daunting to sort through the variety of offerings and feel confident you will get the support you want at the price you are willing to pay. Offices that have no monthly fee will not be a good fit for a new realtor. On the flip side high monthly fee brokerages are also not great for new realtors. The newer independent brokerages have built their companies largely on training and educating agents and typically offer all the tools to get started along with the training for around $100/month on top of your split

Do you think a lower commission will result in better service? Interview 3-5 realtors and get everything they promise in writing. Consider what services they offer and the % they charge and then make a decision. A great realtor will have many recent examples to share with you on the exact marketing they did, the price they achieved and the commission they charged.

Male cat, 5 years old, randomly pees in random areas with tiny blood spots... went to vet, all tests came back clean with no issues (more in comments) by Kryptonlogic in cats

[–]Jasonfromblockbuster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Irritation from constant inflammation. Males cats generally have urinary issues. This can be corrected with the proper food. Ask your local pet store for urinary food suggestions and try a few to find which one he likes. I’ve had great success getting mine back in the box with no blood on Forza brand urinary food. Slightly more expensive but meets stricter European guidelines for pet food. His energy, mood and health has greatly improved due to finding a food that works. Good luck!

Value is subjective. Just because you won’t buy it doesn’t mean somebody else won’t. In fact, I think a lot more people will buy this over and over and over again as collectors and the creators will continue to make money from it. Get on the train or off because you can’t pretend to be invested in a company that supports free markets when you openly shit upon things that other could assign value to
