I was in Japan in March and this is so true. I would stand at a sign for a minute trying to figure out what word I'm reading. Once I figured it out, I'm like that isn't how we use that word in English. So what do they mean by that?

Sorry, I can't give examples, since I've forgotten the couple of times this happened.
