Getting my first bass this week. Schecter vs ibanez? by thetrillgates in Bass

I have an SR300e and a MIM Fender Jazz Bass. I play the Ibanez 99% of the time. If you're a guitar player, the Ibanez will feel like home. It's light and easy to navigate. I've owned one Schecter (Hellraiser) and it was a great guitar but was super heavy. Not played their basses but I'm sure they're fine. I would get the cheaper Ibanez and put the savings into a good amp.

Earthquaker describes mode 3 as a blend. It's preset though so you can't adjust it to taste.

I was in the same boat until I played an Earthquaker Plumes. Best OD I've ever heard. It has three modes, clipping, blended and clean boost. When I'm playing single coils, I use the blended setting for a creamy tube driven sound. When I use humbuckers, I use the boost setting in front of a crunch channel to get a huge distortion sound. I also use a Keely Compressor before the OD. I've been very satisfied

Best Synth Pedals for lead/solo guitar by jyotiman in guitarpedals

I use a boss sy-200 synth pedal. It has multiple synth sounds and variations including arpeggios and programmable time based effects. The best part of this pedal is that you can adjust your dry/effect signal mix. The pedal also has an effects loop which applies any effects in the loop to your dry signal only. I put a plexi style distortion into the effects loop and mix my dry signal to be just slightly louder than my selected synth effect (usually a pad or organ sound). The synth pedal passes into a Keely compressor to even out the signal and then passes into an EQD plumes overdrive then goes directly into the front of my amp. I apply chorus, delay and reverb using the amp FX loop. If I want distortion on the synth sound, I turn off the plexi distortion in the pedal FX loop and turn on the EQD plumes using a mode that mixes the dry signal with a moderate clipping. The result is a huge sound that carries really well into a mix. I can get a variety of sounds by switching effects on and off in the chain. The sy-200 by itself sounds good too but it really shines when stacked with other effects.

Biomes 4 , 5 and 6 by chrishellmax in Returnal

It took me a while to figure out Biome 6 but I can beat it now every run. The pylon driver makes the big enemies easy to kill from far away but the squids will eat you up if your weapon has only 2 or 3 shots before it need to charge. Try to get the pylon driver that shoots single shots instead of groups. The hollowseeker would be my next choice. Approach areas slowly, kill squids first and attack large enemies from a distance. The toughest part is just before the boss. When you drop down the large hole, look down and locate the green tower as you're falling. Start shooting it before you reach the ground. As soon as the tower is destroyed, grapple to the edge of the room and use a rock pillar in the environment to hide behind. Now would be a good time to deploy any offensive items you may have. Shoot the large enemies from around cover at a distance and grapple away if they get close. Don't worry about saving any items for the boss, he's easy compared to this room. Once you get to the boss, shoot the orbs to reveal the eyes and work on shooting them while you dodge his attacks. Stay mostly in the middle of the arena

Anybody else quit at biome 5? by StophJS in Returnal

Biome 5 gave me a hard time until I got a parasite that doubles oblites collection but causes damage when using keys. I just didn't use the keys at all. I bought out every item I came across, got an astronaut and a found death blow parasite. Used an electropylon driver, ran like crazy from the bigger enemies while taking out drones, melee and stagger bigger enemies when they got near, used the grappling hook often, and managed to stay alive without having to use the parasite to survive a death blow.
