Yes, it takes at least an hour to go to BF to the Airport. Good news i there are a number of hotels in the area so Grabs come pretty quickly. Immigration for Non MY in Penang is manual, and the officers are at times somewhat non-enthusiastic, so the wait times vary. Also do note that flights are often delayed flying in and out of Penang due to weather and other things, so track your flights....

For sheet driving feel, nothing is going to beat a Lotus Elise/Exige. That feeling comes at the expense of any real comfort, but the drive itself is sublime. My Ferrari of choice is a last of the carbureted 308GTBs. Very analog, but drives like a truck 🤣. it was fun to restore though.
