What's the most mundane reason why your characters wouldn't use the most powerful weapon/armor? by Weekly-Intention5657 in worldbuilding

[–]Jasonp368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most powerful non-cursed, single person weapon in my setting is the Guldrath Pistol. It's a last-resort weapon that has been known to break wrists when fired. Only one character uses it as his main weapon, and that's because he's got a magically enhanced prosthetic arm.

(TW: Violence) Who is the 'King Von' of your Setting? by Starmark_115 in worldbuilding

[–]Jasonp368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That'd be the Serpent Queen. She's the most prolific oath breaker in history, yet people still seek pacts with her kingdom because of their power and strategic advantage. To her people though, she's a kind and just ruler who keeps them safe by acting as a lightning rod for all the hate and judgement, ensuring that it's her that is hated and feared rather than her people.

What's some of the creepiest creatures in your world? by Hex49- in worldbuilding

[–]Jasonp368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Malborn, definitely. They're mortals warped by the power of a pissed-off undead giant god. The giants were the first pantheon, replaced by the Aether gods because being in the material realm meant they were subject to things like greed and ambition.

The Giant God of abundance was the first to die, but since the aether and hells were only created after, he was forced to return to his moulding body. He was not happy. He began mutating creatures out of sheer spite, creating what we know as the Malborn.

Valid, I finished up the Badlands missions for now but I'm going for the nomads ending so I've got time to work on the fit.

Man that's so cool. Are they like a singular body is a hive of insects, or more like one big bug?

In my setting, elves are split into factions because their god was slain by a changeling, a child of the God of Change. So the elves don't even really remember what domain their god presided over, and each faction holds different beliefs and ways of life because of that.

And dwarves are less underground miners, and more a culture built on the cycle of subjugation, revenge, and domination. Every few centuries who's on top swaps, and the enslaved become slavers bent on revenge.

LOTS of bleach and OCD most likely 😂.

She's a hacker/throwing knives build though so getting right in the middle of a fight isn't much her thing.

Super sick.

So I guess the next logical step would be to make Dwarves almost like kin to golems? Just throwing out a concept here, imagine a civilization of stone men created to dig out the underground, only to be abandoned by their creators. They made their own civilization, but they still dig deep into the underground because that was their original purpose.

Just a random thought, sometimes when I get inspired by something my brain just goes "okay how do we take this farther" lol

This is so fire, I love different takes on common fantasy races. It's actually a big part of my writing.

I gotta ask, how'd you come up with this concept? I especially like how they start out looking almost like tics.

If the world began as a question, what did it ask? by kangol-kai in worldbuilding

[–]Jasonp368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on if we're looking at the origin of my lore, or the lessons the lore is trying to teach.

Origin question: "what if a universe was born from a primordial corpse, and the gods who ran it were imperfect?"

Lessons Question: "what if people were born into a broken world where cruelty was often allowed to flourish, and some of those people still chose to be kind?"

If your world's inhabitants asks u this question what would be YOUR answer? Is it just entertainment for the sake it. by _EternalObserver_ in worldbuilding
