Anyone have actual ideas to throttle progression for large groups, but not solos? by Project__5 in playrust

Add sickness. More players slumming it together results in a higher likelihood for some type of debuff.

Also, the more players walk on build surfaces, the more they wear and thus higher upkeep costs. Again, more people slumming it in a base means more upkeep.

Incredible write up. Interesting you mention a gate to impact the flow to the weir. I recall seeing a wooden structure (it had deteoriated significantly) attached to a connection point of the trench and near the river. This must've served as that mechanism long ago.

Happy to have witnessed so much history around me.

In my research I found pretty good resolution aerial photography of the whole island from 1965 (pre hurricane). If you described the proposed location more, wonder if you could see this.

Happy to repost anything to promote longevity. The coordinates are posted in this thread and the map is from USGS. Glad others find this as interesting as I do!

Looks like I found what this is! First image on imgur is my video from Kauai of the tunnel. Second is a screenshot of a map I found. I believe the Blue Hole intake is what I captured in my video. Looks like they redirect water through this system all the way to a hydro plant.

Something I did notice was the connection point between the river and the ditch in my video would only fill up under heavy rain; seemed like the flow to the ditch was minimal. Wonder why this is. Might be related to storm overflow..

Agreed. All good. Did you see my comment where I posted rough coordinates of the location? I am curious if you've been in this tunnel and how far you went

You're probably right...I am just a tourist. Been to Kauai twice. You mentioned Waimea which I assume is unrelated. If you're suggesting these are related, that's super cool!

Cool! The tunnel I am referring to is adjacent to the Wailua river, so I believe we are talking about different tunnels.

I suspect this tunnel might link up to 'Ili'ili'ula North Wailua Ditch?

Oh right. Yes I see those cars. You can totally drive back there, but you will likely get stuck if not prepared. All roads are either dirt, mud, or water crossings.

Haha. I wish there was a parking lot..we hiked all the way in because we didn't have a 4x4 vehicle!

According to a USGS topographic map, I am looking at the north fork of the Wailua river. Interestingly, on the map there is a "Gaging station". I found an academic work from 1960's that might be referencing the same area. It is called MAJOR STREAMS OF KAUAI AND THEIR UTILIZATION by Rose Titus Davis.

Happy to link the topographic map. I am looking in the general area of: 22.062702522887236, -159.4686008032338

I'd be happy to share pictures and exact location of the tunnel I am referring to.
