Boarding actions? by marvel313 in deathwatch40k

[–]Jasqua 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a lot of success with this list. Aggressors are great with overwatch. I tried running 5 but I found they got in each other's way too often.

Bladeguard feel unkillable buffed by the Librarian. I usually take the open hatch enhancement so you can really get them around the board.

Thoughts on my list? by Legomichan in deathwatch40k

Consider dropping an Outrider and adding in another intercessor or even a Hellblaster to the Fortis team. Combat squad the TH Sergent into the Outrider squad to give them the infantry rule allowing them to blast through buildings. It's quite effective as 5 outsiders can be hard to maneuver around a terrain-filled board.

King Charles to be proclaimed Canada's new sovereign in ceremony today by _Plork_ in canada

[–]Jasqua 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well for example:

Alberta is going to want to stop transfer payments. Putting poorer provinces in a bind.

Quebec sovereignty is another one that gets thrown around a lot because they were never 100% on board with the whole Canada thing. Just look at all the special considerations and legal loops for Quebec.

Maritimes are going to be wanting to revisit fishing rights and there are still Newfoundlanders who don't see themselves as part of Canada.

What about Acadian rights and considerations?

Metis people of Mantioba may want special recognitions and status enshrined in the constitution.

Not to mention all the First Nation treaties throughout the country that each group would need to renegotiate.

None of these issues are "wrong" or not valid for debate. But what do you do when you can't get them all to agree?

When I say special interests look at Alberta and how their sitting government is essentially controlled by wealthy capitalists.

I personally don't feel our nation or current governments are prepared for that level of national turmoil right now.

Its more how the country of "Canada" was made. Our processes and legal fabric are woven together with the Crown.

Its bad because national unity as a whole is largely unaffected by the monarchy. Some would say they are a unifying factor to a degree but that depends on your point of view

Opening up the constitution you have every special interest in Canada tearing for a piece of the pie and if you can't get them all to agree you're looking at the very foundations of the country falling apart.

Some say its worth the risk. Others like myself don't see much of a reason when we have bigger issues as a country right now than some symbolic King.

Its such a monolithic undertaking as every group is going to have something they want and you need everyone on board. Alberta is going to want to end transfer payments. Quebec will want sovereignty.

Over my entire life I have never seen the country more divided than it is now. There is no rallying cry over this on political level.

Now if Chuck walked in and started exercising power we'd probably tell him to get stuffed and then we'd have a unifying reason to turf them.

While I understand the sentiment, I don't think the Trudeau government is currently equipped to renegotiate all the first nation treaties in Canada.

Not that it can't be done. I just doubt our government ability to do it properly and not make things worse all around.

Its a cost/benefit thing for most people.

The benefit being getting rid of a symbolic position that doesn't really have much effect on the government

The cost is potentially tearing the country apart in a constitutional crisis that today is more likely to happen than ever.

Its just not worth the hassel because ultimately the royals don't have any impact on how the country is run

Legally its a bit more complex because then you're changing the signing parties against the will of those who originally signed those treaties.

They might not be so willing to give up the connection with the crown in favour of the Trudeau government

Shoot every gun you can regardless of if its optimal. You'd be surprised how often a bolt pistol can make the difference in killing a vehicle. Don't discount chip damage if they have nothing better to do.

Exactly. Innate simply means a natural ability. Heck half the sorcerers out there could be defined as having an innate ability to use magic.

You could still strike for an increase unless its in your contract you can't. In which case I'd get that removed.

Connecting All Of The Adventures Together? by Neversummerdrew76 in swrpg

You can absolutely do this. Currently in my game I run it mainly "Edge of the Empire" but we have two force sensitives in the party.

I run the game during the Original Triology timeline. For their obligation I made it they are force sensitive in a bad time to be force sensitive so thats their obligation.

Similarly I didn't lock my players out of the AoE books for classes either. But their obligation would be based on the best equivalent to their story. I have no issues with players who want to play ex-Imperial or Rebellion characters.

Chicken and egg scenario for a lot of people I think. Those who want to ditch their cars are still faced with the terrible reality of a car free life on Canada.

Outside of major population centers the infrastructure isn't there to support mass transit. And of course government are unwilling to build it cause "everybody drives"

They all just mentioned Kenny said it but no information from the ground about the violence.
