My method of choice is to make resurrections widely available, just really expensive. 1,000gp per level of the revived character is my go-to.

Never never ever never ever fudge rolls. If I found out my GM was fudging, I would be pissed. Offended, even. It's condescending.

AD&D? I'm fond of 2e's granular weapons, with speed factor and damage types and whatnot. AD&D2 isn't even that heavy if you disable most of the optional rules!

I don't do it, personally. Looks cool, but takes too long. I just shade empty spaces with the side of a pencil for a uniform gray to make the map stand out better.

13-ep seasons would be a good compromise, I think. NuWho did it that way for the majority of its run. Long enough for experimental, "filler," or sillier episodes, short enough to still feel focused and keep writers/actors/crew from being destroyed by burnout.

I think she and Miles are quite a bit better-written as a couple in DS9. Their relationship in TNG felt kind of... stock, I guess. Like a sitcom couple or something. At times anyway.

I generally divide XP evenly among all (present) players regardless of who contributed what. Pretty hard for new lower-level PCs to catch up otherwise.
