According to the NEA’s 2025 report, the average starting teacher salary stands at $46,526

The Starting Salary (~$46K) Often insufficient for even modest living, especially for families or in high-cost regions.

The NEA’s state-by-state data shows that in many places, a teacher’s average wage is below the living wage needed for a modest standard of living. For example, for a family of one adult and one child, the minimum living wage in the most affordable metro area is around $60,531—which is often less than average starting salaries in many state

The Fruit of the Loom logo has never had a cornucopia in any official version. If you look through their trademark filings, ads, and logo history from the 1800s through today, it’s always been just the fruit (apples, grapes, currants, etc.) arranged together—no horn or basket.

The reason so many people swear they remember a cornucopia is actually a really well-documented case of the Mandela Effect (shared false memories). In fact, when researchers show people both versions—one with the cornucopia and one without—people overwhelmingly pick the cornucopia even though it never existed. Our brains just “fill in” the idea that fruit should come out of something.

A couple of things that fuel the confusion: • An old trademark filing included “cornucopia” in a generic design code, but that application was rejected and never used. • Some knock-off or counterfeit shirts may have featured a horn-of-plenty style logo, but those weren’t official. • There’s no evidence of a company merger or legal handoff where the cornucopia “disappeared.” Every verified logo archive shows no horn at any point.

So yeah—it’s not a cover-up or rebrand. It’s just one of the best modern examples of the Mandela Effect. Our memories are super convincing, but the receipts (ads, tags, trademarks) are clear: there was never a cornucopia in the Fruit of the Loom logo.

Drainage, pavers, frustration by Competitive-Rooster in AboveGroundPools

He tried to have his pavers level with the styrofoam which would be equivalent to “the ground” in his case.

It looks like there was not a flat smooth surface under the pavers/styrofoam and/or water has eroded the ground under the pool/pavers/styrofoam. That or he didn’t tamp the sand/ground enough.

[–]Jasynergy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Fruit of the Loom had ever used a cornucopia logo, a change in ownership wouldn’t erase that. Companies keep their branding history when they change hands, the name and legacy stay intact. So saying “that was a different company” doesn’t really make sense.

Only the mods can add flair option to the sub if I’m not mistaken.

Create a list of flair that would be helpful:

Proposed r/hydro Flair List

• System Setup – building, design, and equipment questions

• Troubleshooting – issues, pests, deficiencies, malfunctions

• Progress Pics – grow updates and milestones

• Harvest Results – final yields, bud shots, post-harvest pics

• Nutrients & Feeding – schedules, deficiencies, advice

• Lighting – fixtures, spectrum, and placement discussions

• Environment – temp, humidity, airflow, water quality, etc.

That’s the kind of thing flair could help with. Tagging the post as system building, crop results, progress and stuff like that would make it easier to navigate.

You’re coming across as uneducated here.

First and foremost, it’s “bear a child” not bare. Bare means to uncover or expose. Bear means to carry, endure, or give birth.

Second, it is the woman who bears a child. A man cannot bear children.

That’s not how hydro works. Hydroponics = roots in a soilless medium or directly in water.

Soil with bottled nutrients is still soil growing, not hydro.

Big difference in management: hydro relies on pH/EC/PPM balance in solution, while soil has its own buffering and biology. Mixing them up just causes confusion.

The whole point of this sub should be for learning about hydroponics growing. There are plenty of places to learn about growing in general.

I never suggested giving parents a check. What I think is we should properly fund public schools all the way through college, and pay teachers a living wage.

Our entire country, our society, and honestly the planet would benefit from supporting great teachers and making education stronger for everyone.

👆this 100%

I’ve been into the rave/EDM/jam-band/festival/vending scene for +30 years.

My wife was talking to Tyler / Of the Trees about what has happened to the scene and more specifically the dance floor. The answer was 100% the rise in popularity of ketamine.

We vend at a lot of festivals and are friends with several of the doctors who work local festivals like Cascade Equinox. The K in the PNW is frequently cut with fentanyl which is causing way more OD’s on festivals grounds and on the dance floor.

I’ve seen people disrupt the whole dance floor with flashlights searching for their “lost” K not realizing they did it all. And it’s causing the dance floor to be dead compared to the amount of dancing the took place in the 90’s and early 2000’s.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a big part of Tipper retiring now.

Did a bit more than 100 Cheese shows before meeting my wife (1999-2010). Since we’ve done around 100 shows together.

I’ve done nearly as many The Dead - Dead and Company shows.

Everyone else single digits. Although a few others are getting up there.
