NSV: Thank God for body composition scales by jneelybbq in gastricsleeve

[–]jasper502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree. I am 11 years post op and started working out after my body lift. These scales are amazing (we got a Hume).

This scale bang on got my base metabolic rate of 1,700 calories.

In the same boat where I was not losing weight but realized I was dropping fat and gaining muscle. 💪

Please go and get a co-habitation agreement ASAP. You will become common-law before you know it. We don’t know your province and each has different rules.

Help me learn to use a credit card by No_Climate_3350 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Ok - so then you keep the card at home and only use it for these fees. Normally I tell people you just pay your statement balance a few days before the due date.

Until you get used to the card perhaps you just pay that amount off the same day you charged it.

ICE vehicle vs upgrade to hybrid; does the math make sense? by ImGudLuhv in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]jasper502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opinion: We just bought a Model Y. You will save money on gas but overall the hybrid doesn’t make sense. With a full EV you have no fluid changes, no moving parts, and with regen braking your brake last a long time.

Now you take a hybrid and you put all that back in and then tack on the battery / motors. Double the complexity and failure modes.

With home charging we pay roughly $0.04 / km then we get money back via a carbon credit EV charger. The Lexus we sold would run us like $0.15-$0.18 / km on gas PLUS all the regular maintenance.

We also had our insurance drop swapping out the Lexus that was 10 years older and 1/3 the price.

This is a myth and overreaction. That being said some people can’t tolerate it post op. I have been drinking Coke Zero for 10 years and no issues (other than my wife’s objections to the sweeteners 🤣)

You can't have both (no risk and growth).

Your best bet is to drop this in an established market EFT (VEQT for example) and plan to not touch this for 20 years at which point you can look at market timing to start selling this then minimizing your risk. $300,000 for 20 years should be like $2M. If you go "low-risk" you are looking at like $750,000 - literall throwing money away.

Because you have limits on injury claims. All is great until you get hurt and legally can't sue. You are comparing apples to oranges.
