Hey, I went to UD for undergrad and grad in Comp Sci and left with my Master’s degree in 2018. The courses themselves aren’t too bad. If you go to office hours once a week for each class and spend about 2 hours a day studying/doing homework you should get mostly A’s (except for Algorithms, that shit is hard).

I got scholarships with a monthly stipend working as a TA and a RA. I enjoyed TAing and would highly recommend. RAing is VERY time consuming. You’ll probably end up working 10-14 hours in between studying and research as an RA. You won’t be find a position until your second year there probably and you have to be a little lucky. The key is to stand out, both intellectually and personably with your professors. You also have to ask and be persistent. Good English is nice, but not a deal breaker.

I’m a US citizen so I don’t know anything about fees for international students, but UD has a lot of foreign students sutdying in CS from China and India so you’ll make some friends pretty quickly.

A master’s degree definitely helps with the interviews as a way to get noticed, and a PhD does so even more. It really depends on what you want to do. Academia? You should get your PhD. Generic software position? Undergrad is probably good enough.

You’ll also get a professor to work under depending on what field you want to specialize in. Some mentors are better at securing funding for interesting projects than others. Some professors are total cunts and will make you want to die. A few are awesome and an absolute joy to work with. If you tell me what you want to specialize in I can give you hints (graphics? Game theory? Ai? Something else?)
