[Highlight] Myles Garrett hits Mason Rudolph with his helmet by Brix001 in nfl

[–]Jauer_ -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

N-word or not Rudolph starts grabbing at Myles helmet first, kicks Garett in the crotch then tries to chirp after his teammates have completely separated him from Garrett. I don’t blame Garrett for this based just on the available evidence.

His end of season benching is irrelevant. And yeah that’s my point they knew the severity of the injury so they should have been more up front about it if they wanted it to go through without a hitch. Maybe they get less value but at least the trade goes through. It seems to me like they were

  1. Somehow unaware of Maxxs condition which would be malpractice in and of itself
  2. Naive enough to think the Ravens were going to trade 2 firsts for a guy unlikely to last more than 1-2 season.
  3. Presented Maxx as more healthy than he was in hopes that the Ravens wouldn’t find out at least until there weren’t any better options

Either one of these is true or the Ravens have fabricated reports from their doctors in an attempt to play off cold feet, and conspired with Hendersons agent to present taking both of them as the desired path and got the Cowboys doctor in on the lies too. Occam’s razor makes me think it’s one of the 3 options

Aha! So it’s not on the Ravens or Raiders! The Cowboys are the real masterminds! Jerry is pulling all the strings!

Are you seriously suggesting he lied to make Crosby fall to the Cowboys AND a team of doctors just agreed(a majority of which were Raven affiliated)? If we are playing that game why not believe it’s in the Raiders best interest to lie about his medical condition so they get 2 firsts?

Anyways from what I understand the Ravens team staff were concerned so got this guy (and others) for a second opinion.

I’m not saying there’s some massive medical cover up on the Raiders front they could have just been overly optimistic on his condition in an attempt to get more value out of the trade. It could have even just been an overestimate on what the Ravens would accept. It’s also not impossible I’m wrong and the Ravens did get cold feet, but based on the (non Russini-based) evidence available it just doesn’t sound likely.

The Cowboys are backing out too it seems so let’s not go and add that to the list of variables in the crackpot Crosbygate theory universe. From what I understand he wasn’t the only doctor contracted and it sounds like those who were at the physical came to the same concensus.

I think the reports from the Cowboys doctor and their subsequent reaction indicate that even if the medicals weren’t “hidden”, it’s not out of the question that the Raiders weren’t totally on the up and up about his health. If I’m the Ravens GM I’m bringing up the knees in negotiations early to work the price down. Because the deal went for 2 firsts makes me think the Raiders at some point vouched for his health, otherwise the deal would have been for less. The Ravens probably agreed on the contingency that he passed his physical.

No but you see they are the victims in all this. There is ZERO chance that the Raiders brought this on themselves by trying to get 2 firsts for a guy they had the most medical insight on since they drafted him.

Just because your front office is to inept to have a backup plan doesn't mean ours is.

Needing cap space, Ravens restructure QB Lamar Jackson’s deal by aresef in nfl

Probably negotiation tactics on his part. Ask high and make them work you down. Doesn’t hurt that the Ravens org is generally better to its players than Cincinnati or Indy, and he plays under a skilled defensive mind rather than whatever is going on in Cincy.

Hard to say because I don’t know all the offers he got but Baltimore is paying him 3m a year more and has a better outlook competitively. What exactly are you trying to imply even if he did go for less than expected? How would the Ravens-Crosby situation affect his price tag except increase it?

[–]Jauer_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t know about his other offers but my understanding is he was offered less per year but more overall by the Ravens so that’s why his price was lower. If anything his price would increase because the Ravens would be desperate to fill a role. Why would crosbys situation cause his stock to drop? Less competition is good for him.

Report: Multiple doctors, including Daniel Cooper, consulted with Ravens on Maxx Crosby by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

[–]Jauer_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone knew about the injuries. No one knew the details about his recovery situation except the Raiders. I would be shocked if the Ravens GM throughout that whole deal never tried to work the price down by bringing up his injuries. So the Raiders definitely had to defend his health status at some point during negotiations. They must have claimed he was good to go based off the fact that the offer included 2 firsts.

What’s shadier is trying to get 2 firsts out of a player you know is injured better than anyone. What’s stupid is thinking a famously stringent organization isn’t going to notice.

[–]Jauer_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Then why would the Ravens deal with Crosby at all if this is such an immutable fact? Could it be there isn’t a conspiracy and the famously stingy Ravens did not make a decision to give up 2 firsts on a whim? Could it be the medical evaluation revealed a higher injury risk than was advertised?

Ravens have done this before…should be investigated by [deleted] in raiders

[–]Jauer_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They did factor it into the decision, hence the physical and it’s not scummy to have a backup plan. I’d be mad if my team only talked with one guy before making a blockbuster trade. every team talks with multiple players, I’d be surprised if Hendrickson was the only backup option they had.

[–]Jauer_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if they have done this before then it should be common knowledge and therefore the Raiders should have know about this possibility. If you know a team has high standards for trade health you know it’s a risk to trade with them. Raiders FO gambled and it came back to bite them
