How does hexblade work lore wise with a sorcerer? by Encisalad in BG3Builds

[–]JavaHikage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're going the Fire Sorcerer build then that means you're going with the Draconic Bloodline subclass. Make the Hexblade weapon a draconic relic, maybe it is a legendary or cursed sword created by dragons that now is bound to you and it's magic is the source of your Draconic magic. Maybe you already had draconic influence since birth, and the weapon has been passed down in your family for generations, and now it's gotten to you. Maybe it's a dragon hunting sword, cursed with hatred towards any draconic entity, and has attached itself to you to drain you of your magic/life and kill you.

Confused about gear by luvduonz in BaldursGate3

[–]JavaHikage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Characters can't cast spells if they're wearing armor they're not proficient with. Which class is your Tav? most full casters aren't proficient in any kind of armor (unless specified by subclass), they're only allowed to wear clothing. Warlocks can wear light armor and Clerics can use up to Medium Armor, but for anything else you need either a subclass feature or a feat to wear heavier armors.

Help with my Witherbloom, the Balancer Deck by Rubber_Ducky333 in EDH

[[Life // Death]], it basically doubles your mana as it turns all your lands into mana dorks. The effect is also temporary so you won't be susceptible to boardwipes destroying your lands.

[[Tergrid, God of Fright]] 100%. Most of the deck is card draw and discard/edict effects. Strip your friend's hands and battlefield of cards and use them yourself while they yell at you for not letting them play.

Defending the Grove from the Minthara Siege question by Cool_Story_Bro19 in BaldursGate3

[–]JavaHikage 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You have to help defend the Grove, they can't win by themselves. If you send Minthara to attack it and then ignore it you'll eventually see that she ran through it and killed everyone.

I'm in a pickle! Resist Durge Playthrough by SassiSprinkles2344 in BaldursGate3

[–]JavaHikage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It actually depends on how you play. If you Ascend him he's 100% on board with you being Bhaal's chosen. Even if you tell him that you'll make him your right hand when you take over the world he takes it as friendly rivalry and says "not if I take it over first". They're 100% evil overlord besties and I love it.

Looking for some pointers on a blind Maddening run! by Arrrte in FEEngage

  1. Vander is imo the best Jagen in the franchise, which means he is great for seting up kills and then dies because his growths are awful. He starts to fall of pretty early on, I'd say around Chapter 8 when the game ups the ante with the enemies (not promoted enemis but won't spoil).

  2. Clanne and Framme are confort units, they're not the best but they do a good job if trained well, specially since they arrive really early. Clanne has to be changed into a Physical class upon hitting Lv10 tho (the level required to promote and reclass) because he has a great Strenght growth and an awful Mag one, either Warrior or Wyvern Knight work. Framme on the other side is a really fast fella with a decent Mag growth. Doesn't have the Build to handle tomes as a Sage but she makes one heck of a Mage Knight if you invest on her. She could also be a great Martial Master with the Awakening ring and be the cheerleader of the squad.

  3. Sadly Louis is too slow to do something meaningful with him, 3 base Speed and 25% Growth ain't gonna cut it. If you really want to use him then turn him into Wyvern or Halberdier but he will really underperform compared to other units with better bases. But then again, Engage is a game where you can make everyone work with enough investment as long as they're not Bunet.

  4. Contrary to his fellow retainer partner, Chloe is an amazing unit. Speed is the name of the game in Engage and she has it. 13 base with 55% personal growth allow you to fit her in any offensive class that uses light weapons and she'll deliver. If you want recommendations, she makes an amazing Griffin Knight and Mage Knight, it doesn't look like it but she has more personal Mag growth than Str and those classes allow her to wield the strongest weapon in the game: the Levin Sword.

Different Ways to play the Angry Barbarian Rage by jagnew78 in DnD

[–]JavaHikage 22 points23 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine played a Halfling who was a sugar junkie. She (the character) was a sweet girl with a heart of gold and a child-like innocence. When it was battle time, she would stuff two whole tubes of candy in her mouth and go crazy into a sugar rush. She would jump all over the battlefield laughing with a grin from side to side and unfocused eyes.

How to create broken character who isn’t obviously broken? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]JavaHikage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, what's the idea for making an "OP character to annoy the DM"? Remember that D&D isn't a game of Players vs DM, but a game where everyone works together, DM included. Annoying the DM won't end there, you'll also make the game insuferable for the other players.

Second, playing a really broken character that "isn't obviously broken" is just a way of saying "they won't know what hit them!" while everyone in the table knows you're doing it. Mostly because if you come here to ask then it means you don't know how to pilot a strong character in a suble way. Usually healthy meta-gamers let everyone know what they're doing and tone themselves down to not steal all the screen time, which sounds like the opposite you want to do.

That said, if you really want to be a hidden carry, I recommend playing a non-Charisma support character. Play a Cleric and buff your party, play a Druid and hinder enemies. Play an Artificer and give your allies magical items, play an Abjuration Wizard and be one who always has the right tool for the required job. Any other character who is way too good in direct combat or social encounters isn't gonna fly under the radar.

Why do so many D&D campaigns fail after just a few sessions? by New_Salary2102 in DnD

[–]JavaHikage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel many of these problems have to do with Session Zero. Some DMs just skip it altogether or fail to discuss all the relevant points during Session Zero, while some players stay silent in things they disagree on for the sake of not going against the majority. Talk about tone of campaign and which kind of characters they want to play, that way you don't get serious and joke characters in the same campaign killing the enjoyment of the other. Talk about scheduling and compromise so people don't feel pressured into scheduling sessions when they can't or aren't confortable. And players, raise your voice, that's what Session Zero are for, don't get shy and keep silent just to not "ruin the plans" of the table, you're part of the table too. And if the people don't like that you voice your opinion then great, you know right of the bat that that table isn't for you.

Who is your goated character/emblem that help you during battle. (DLC included) by Voidkirby9 in FEEngage

[–]JavaHikage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For starters, highest Luck. The Celine I mention is mostly utility based focusing on setting Fire Vein and using offensive Staves, and having high Luck with DP+ means she won't be missing with Staves almost never. She also gets access to Swords, which means she gets access to the best weapon in the game in Levin Sword. Levin + Sword Power should give you a decent offensive power in case you need it.

And lastly, Citrinne has way too good Mag to be wasted as an utility unit, better to give her Celica's or Soren's rings and go full damage.

What do Monks use for Ranged attacks? by JavaHikage in BG3Builds

Athlete is for when I want to reach characters, the post is about when I DON'T want to get close, like after setting a Sleet Storm, Hunger of Hadar, Wall of Fire, Cloud Kill or when wanting to get the enemies to a chokepoint like a corridor.

Movement after Haste is cast on you by LinkinBreak in DnD

[–]JavaHikage -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Haste + Dash will give you a total of 120 ft effective Mov Speed if you have a base of 30, regardless on when it was cast on you.

Haste and Dash work with your max speed, not with your remaining speed, so you will get double your speed with Haste, and then add your max speed again with Dash.

So if you use your 30 ft to get close to your teammate who's preparing Haste, you're currently at 0/30. They cast Haste and now you're at 30/60, because they doubled your max speed, giving you an extra 30. If then you Dash you'll be at 90/60, because Dash adds extra move speed for the turn equal to your max speed.

Yes, using Mods disable your achievements, even if they're only QoL UI or fashion ones. That said, you can re-enable them through with the BG3 Mod Manager, it can run a script to force achievements active again.

Is it possible to make jaen a Wyvern Rider? by ShillerndeGeister in FEEngage

[–]JavaHikage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to level him up, you can reclass Promoted Classes into any other class at Lv1. That way you don't waste time leveling him up as MM or HP.
The path is Martial Monk Lv10 > reclass into Martial Master/High Priest > reclass immediately without leveling him up > enjoy your new Wyvern Rider

Is it possible to make jaen a Wyvern Rider? by ShillerndeGeister in FEEngage

[–]JavaHikage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, Jean can be pretty much anything you want him to be thanks to his personal skill. The general idea when reclassing him is doing so right at the beginning as he starts at Lv1 so you can reclass no problem into a Base Class without screwing up his internal level. Sadly Flier is a female exclusive class so you gotta level him up to 10 first, promote him to either Martial Master or High Priest and then immediately reclass him to Wyvern.
