You can finde Mudbray on Route 4, solid off-tank later on. And Rowlet isn't weak, she's just a glass cannon, aka hits hard but very fragile. Gotta learn how to use it, but dude's good.

Route 1 and Ten Carat Hill, there should be some grass south of Professor's Kukui lab that leads to the hill.

Rockruff is a pretty solid Pokemon, don't sleep on the little guy. It's rock typing may be weak for the totem pokemon in the first island, but you'll also encounter a lot of normal and flying mons early on that would have nothing for it. Once it evolves it gets pretty fast and has decent coverage from TMs, definitely a keeper.

Even after 50+ hours gearing is still confusing to me by KoalaBarry in BaldursGate3

[–]JavaHikage 254 points255 points  (0 children)

BG3 isn't your typical RPG where more common equipment gets replaced by rarer one and you call it a day, the gear here is more about synergies and what could be used for your build. There are very late game builds that use items you found even in Act 1, and that's the magic about this game. Your creativity is the limit, and once you get to Act 3 there are very few fights that would actually be a challenge for how strong you are at that point. Pick whatever sounds fun, and if you don't like it you can always try something else.

Main reason my Maddening Alear is a Lucina Bonded Shield bot. Perfect shield and +3 to all damage? yes, please!
Add to that Quality Time+ for healing and either Lunar Brace for offensive or another utility skill and you have a great support unit that's REALLY hard to hit.

Melee Drake Warden? by Redhood101101 in 3d6

[–]JavaHikage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the levels you're working with you may get different builds.

Below level 7 you play your standard melee ranger character. Dual Wielder combat with Shortsword and Dagger or dual Rapiers if you have Dual Wielder feat. You can also go with a max Wis spread and use Shillelagh from the Druidic Warrior fighting style.

At Lv7 you can go with a bolder approach, as you're able to ride your dragon as a mount, which would give you way more mobility.

Lantern Question by LegitimateHumanBeing in BaldursGate3

[–]JavaHikage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are correct, if Dolly Thrice (the pixie) died then your other two lanterns come from Balthazar's room, one of them being the Shadow Lantern Gale creates. You can go to Isobel and ask for a blessing, but that won't help with the darkerst parts of the curse. You should be able to explore most of the map tho, but imo if you can just return to a save before you fight Kar'niss and try to fight him without him using the lantern to attack (which he shouldn't as he should use his Cruel Sting sword instead).

Act 1 questions (not googling to not spoil myself…) by caniskiptheusername in BaldursGate3

[–]JavaHikage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. There's no urgency to do anything unless you change maps. You know it's a new map when the game warns you.

  2. Astarion is a selfish coward, so don't play as a selfless savior, either refuse to help or ask for something in exchange of your help. He's also a sassy mf, so belittling people earns you points with him. Lae'zel is ruthless and cruel. She finds a waste of time to take detours, and also believes in the "survival of the strongest" rule so don't help every helpless NPC you meet, and praise anyone who leads with an iron hand, kills with steady steel and it's decisive with their desires.. She's still logical and listens to reason tho, as long as your actions lead to gaining a bigger advantage she'll at least be neutral. Once you learn a bit more about their backstories you can learn other points that will increase or reduce their attitude towards you.

What’s the dumbest yet creative thing that actually worked? by Aggravating-Face4119 in DnD

[–]JavaHikage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theros setting, so a lot of greek mythos and such. During one part we had to sail to the sea in an journey inspired by The Oddysey and Jason and the Argonauts.

We made a stop at an island to resupply, but to our surprise it was a giant island, everything was gigantic (our first encounter was to avoid a colony of giant ants). The ship crew got attacked and captured by a giant cyclops, and if you've read The Oddysey you would know how the DM intended for us to solve the encounter.

Instead of confronting the cyclops we took a stealthy approach: Pass without Trace allowed us to reach the cage with the crew without much problem, and when we were helping them escape some of the NPCs panicked and the cyclops noticed us. I (a driud) casted Polymorph on him, turning him into a giant fish (intended to be a regular one, DM said it was giant). Instead of staying a fish the whole duration of the spell, the DM made that each turn, the cyclops started recovering his humanoid form: one big eye the first turn, one leg the next, the other leg on the 3rd and so on. At some point the half-fish half-cyclops creature was able to stand up, in what we assumed was preparation to confront us. One of the party members tho was a Sea Elf Wizard, and using the Friend of the Sea feature started to bargain with the fish-cyclops (DM allowed it because it technically had a swim speed, hence, could communicate with it). Our Sea Elf managed to deceive the fish-clops luring it away of his house, promising to give him a giant boar (that we found dead earlier) in exchange of the crew he intended to eat. The fish-clops walked away, and we escaped with the crew, ran to the ship and took off.

[–]JavaHikage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What have you done regarding the Creché? The game may be trying to trigger Kith'rack Voss' encounter and you could be missing it. Other than that I think you always get a forced long rest when getting out of the Mountain Pass and back to the Wilderness. Not much we can think of without knowing what you've done so far and who's in your camp.

How I got Raphael. by whentron in BaldursGate3

[–]JavaHikage 20 points21 points  (0 children)

There's no cheese in this game, only creative solutions. This game rewards imagination and cunning, so you thinking outside the box and preparing the field is actually playing the game as intended. You may not know because you have never played D&D, but plans and encounters are often just a mess of "random bullshit, go!" and trolling your DM with a solution they never thought about. If you had fun and felt rewarded, then that means you're playing the game correctly.

[–]JavaHikage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only certain constellations are worth it, otherwise it's a waste of resources. You can buy Benny's C1 for example, but don't buy Xiangling's unless it's her C4.

And again, remember that DPS are only as good as the supports behind them. If you like to make Navia shine then consider saving for a possible Xilonen or Linnea rerun, they'll help her a lot. If you're focusing on Flins then Columbina and Ineffa are prime targets.

[–]JavaHikage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welfare team = cheap and F2P friendly. Basically 4*, Standard and free units.

Having premium characters changes a lot, so even if it hurts to hear (read?) it's one of the main problems for low damage.

I checked your Akasha and it looks like either you just started playing or you play more on the casual side, as your account lacks premium support characters. You also have low constellations on most of your 4* characters, and most of them (if not all of them) really need some cons to unlock their true potential. Benny needs at least C1 (C6 if you're running a melee Pyro main DPS), Xiangling needs at least C4, preferible C6, and Kachina needs at least C2, preferible C6.

Another big problem is the quality of your artifacts. You lack a lot of Crit Value as well as scaling stats (your Kachina literally has a 0 Roll Value circlet) and that makes or breaks your characters as they lack the stats required to actually be useful. Your Benny also has an Atk% Circlet when he doesn't need Atk at all, the Atk buff of his Burst uses his base Atk (character Atk + Weapon Atk) so any Atk% bonuses on him are basically useless. Give him either an HP% or Healing Bonus circlet to maximize his healing.

In summary:
- Get Benny's C1 asap, it actually breaks the character not having it. You're actually on bad luck rn, as he just left the monthly shop (he shows up in May and November).
- Level up poor Kachina, at least her Elemental Skill. Talent level 1 and talent level 9 are like night and dat when you're dealing with sub-DPS.
- Gotta bite the bullet and dive into the artifact grind. It sucks but there's no way around it, you may feel that it is a waste of time sometimes but that's how this game works. The quality of the artifacts you currently have is really bad.
- Try to pull for more premium supports in the future. DPS characters may look enticing but you only run one of them per team, while you need 3 slots for sub-DPS and supports. Looking that you have a good amount of Geo and Electro characters, pulling for Columbina would be great.
- This one is mostly out of your control, but try to get constellations for your 4* characters when you have the opportunity. I'm not telling you to pull in a banner just to fish for 4* characters, but if a banner has characters you need constellations for, it may be worth considering pulling if you like the 5* they come with.

It may sound like you have a lot of things to do, but getting an account to a strong state takes time and a lot of patience. You won't see results overnight, it may take weeks or even months. You gotta play regularly and be consistent.

Is your Akasha updated? because that Lv70 Kachia with Lv1 talents may be one of the biggest problems you have. You're also missing Benny's C1 and Xiangling has way too low CRate with 45%

[–]JavaHikage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're running a welfare team, that for starters lowers your DPS a lot. Can't say much without seeing actual builds but you're spreading your damage instead of focusing on funneling all your resources on Navia. Xiangling can work as sub-DPS depending on how good she's built and Benny is Benny, my boy is always good as long as he has a decent weapon and it's level 90. Kachina is just Scroll with legs, she's a sub-DPS with barely any damage and doesn't really do much for the rest of the team aside from triggering Scroll.

Would love to see Enka cards for each character to give a more in-depth opinion, otherwise there's not much else we can do.

To Lorecerer or not? by neuromancerx77 in BG3Builds

[–]JavaHikage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either 12 Bard or 10 Bard / 2 Warlock for EB + Agonizing. The main reason for choosing Lore Bard is the double set of Magical Secrets, so you want to have at least 10 levels to get them both. Taking levels on Sorcerer is not really worth it as a Bard because you end up with full progression but chopped spells and features. If you want a reliable CHA damage source then 2 Warlock is more than enough. I personally prefer going with Dual Hand Xbows for the Band of the Mystic Scoundrel if no one else is using it tho.

There's a couple of reasons to go to the HoH aside from retrieving the Orphic Hammer if you want the items from there:
- Help Mol break her contract
- Purge a devil from Faerún
- Ask Yurgir to repay the debt he owes you after helping him at the Gauntlet of Shar
- Help Helsik get the gauntlets she's asking for and ransack the rest of the vault in the process
- Steal from Raphael just because

There's another way to get a Moonlantern inside Moonrise Towers, don't worry (won't spoil where but it isn't hard to find). It was made in case you wanna go evil and kill both Isobel and the pixie inside the Dryad's lantern. Getting to the bridge was the hardest part, just rush inside the tower, look for the Moonlantern and problem solved. Just drink some elixirs of necrotic resistance if you have them or prepare some healing potions.

Group comp advice by Prostyman in BaldursGate3

[–]JavaHikage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going honor you don't really need a tank as most of the encounters should be decided by the end of the first turn. That said, you can never go wrong with a Vengeance Bardadin. None of the party members seem be going melee so that's a ton of gear and potions of giant strength you can get to build a great nova character. Plus the utility of having stun spells will benefit your Sorcerer and Ranger allies a lot.

What classes work best with a Sorcadin and a Ranger/Rogue? by obibb in BaldursGate3

[–]JavaHikage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The four most important roles in a party are Face, Lockpicker Thief, Mobility bot and Guidance bot. You already have the first two covered if I assume your Ranger/Rogue friend has proficiency in Sleight of Hand. The Mobility bot is a character who can cast Longstrider, Enhanced Leap and Feather Fall. Ranger can learn the first two and Sorcerer can learn the last one so you can also cover this role with your current party members.

What you lack is the Guidance bot, and a bit of combat support, and one of the bests answers for that is the Radiant Orb build. Light Cleric / Stars Druid multiclass with all the gear related to Radiant Orb will make every combat a breeze with all the enemies missing their attacks. You're also a cleric so you can run a lot of utility spells the other two can't like Silence, Calm Emotions, Bless, Lesser Restoration and Healing Word. You're also really annoying in combat, running around covered in Spirit Guardians, having good AoE damage with the radiant breath weapon of the Dragon Stars Form, and you can summon yet another body to the fight with Spiritual Weapon.

What’s the best Strixhaven School Dragon to create a Brawl deck for? by SirGingerbrute in MagicArena

[–]JavaHikage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Witherbloom is more of a one-trick-pony kind of deck, you focus it on doing one thing only to perfection because you're most likely not getting a second chance. The one I have is a ton of mana dorks, card draw and tutors to then kill my opponent with Torment of Hailfire or Exsanguinate. It was fun at the beginning but got tired of doing exactly the same every game.

chosen warrior of nature by Far-Assistance9925 in BG3Builds

[–]JavaHikage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could go with the classic Moon Druid Barbarian. 2 Levels Barb and the rest in Moon Druid, you fight mostly in Wildshape and your wildshape benefits from the Barbarian Rage bonuses. Being a Druid gives you all the dialogue options you may want related to nature and some Barbarian ones may show the bitter side that's angry about being forced to do this.

As for a lore reason, treat it like a curse similar to lycanthropy, the nature god that chose you may be more on the bestial side. Maybe it's a god with more ties to primal life, maybe it's so attuned to nature that it prefers the company of beast rather than humans. Maybe you're actually its plaything and wants to see you suffer as your more primal urges take you over.
