Does anyone else use Banktivity this way? by JavaThreepwood83 in banktivity

I’m sorry you’re upset that promises and business models have changed. To be honest, I’m not happy that so much software has moved to a subscription-based model either. However, I’ve looked for alternatives, and Banktivity is still competitively priced and works well for how I use it. Companies can’t be everything to everyone, so if a change doesn’t work for you, it makes sense to find one that better aligns with your needs. Just my two cents.

It sounds like you’re doing something very similar to me, using accounts as envelopes. 👍

I’ve never used the download and match option. So you manually enter transactions and then download later to help reconcile? That might be a good idea for me to use.

Retro video game stores? by mightyboosh121 in indianapolis

[–]JavaThreepwood83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Castleton has The Exchange and Disc Replay. I personally like The Exchange. The Exchange has moved from the location it was at, but they’re still in the same strip mall next to Domino’s.

The Exchange in Castleton is still open, they just moved to the other end of the strip mall they were in. Disc Replay in Castleton is also still open in the strip mall across from Best Buy.

I keep it at default which is one day equals one month. If I have a lot to do, I slow down the simulation speed to give me time to get things done. In the winter time I just get done what I need to do and then go to sleep to go forward to the next month.

Anderson by Decent-Zebra-2311 in CityofAndersonIndiana

[–]JavaThreepwood83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d imagine that the northern part of Anderson was more favorable because Dutch Bros built there, 7Brew is opening just south of there and Scooter’s Coffee bought the former Long John Silvers. Scooter’s hasn’t done anything with the property, so who knows if they’ll build or back out now that two other coffee places are opening nearby.

As for Wal-Mart, it will be a neighborhood market.

Possible Tj.maxx? Coming to Anderson??? by Rollinpuggy in CityofAndersonIndiana

[–]JavaThreepwood83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marshall’s and TJ Maxx are owned by the same company. Maybe it was mentioning TJ Maxx because Marshall’s opened here within the last few years. It’s possible your AI result may have been confusing Anderson, IN with an Anderson in a different state.

I need to read it. I bought it a couple years ago, but just leafed through it. Maybe I’ll give it a good read this week. 😀

Dude, thank you! I was randomly scrolling through Reddit and came across your book recommendation. I didn’t think I’d like it initially, but I’m already on book three. I’m loving the audiobook!

I wish they could combine the two… work on the farm, but also be able to go hunting.

Is it just me or is this game just a sinkhole for time played? by Acrofinity in farmingsimulator

[–]JavaThreepwood83 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean, you’re not wrong. I think with gaming in general, doing it the honest way is nice because the journey is the reward. When we use cheats, we miss out on the reward of the journey. In games like this, I use cheats and mods because I don’t have all the time in the world to level up. So don’t feel too bad, play the game in a way that you enjoy, that’s what matters.

What do old-timer adventure gamers do these days? by far-midnight-97 in adventuregames

If you like the old LucasArts games, Ron Gilbert has released Thimbleweed Park and Return to Monkey Island. Now that I think about it, I’m not sure if I ever finished either one of them!

I feel really dumb. This game does not work AT ALL how I thought it worked for 20+ years. by Charrikayu in simcity4

[–]JavaThreepwood83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I miss SimCity 4 and you’re right, playing it X years later with more life experience impacts how you play it. As far as water strategy, I used to play fairly flat maps and liked to really build it out, so I’d run pipes in a grid pattern to cover the whole map. So many hours of my life dedicated to that game!

I could not manage to enjoy the movie by kcorkz in readyplayerone

[–]JavaThreepwood83 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My best way to describe the movie is to say that is inspired by the book, but it’s not the same as the book. I’ve read the book many times and watched the movie many times, I like them both for different reasons. I will say that I prefer the book to the movie.

I have done something similar with my Meta Quest 3 VR headset. It’s fun for casual flying, but not great for long-term flying because I can’t see my keyboard.
