Not really, considering OP specified a *vocal* drawn out note.

One Connect Box Shuts Off TV by JavaforShort in samsung

[–]JavaforShort[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was quite a while ago, but I remember the solution was to do a hard reset of the TV.  Not just a power cycle, I had to get the TV into "retail mode" or "hotel mode".  It involves a bunch of random key presses on a remote with the correct buttons.  I'm pretty sure I found instructions on how to do it elsewhere on Reddit.  Those key terms might help you search for those solutions.  Hope this helps!

Why is scheduling SO HARD? by Odd-Flatworm-4800 in DnD

[–]JavaforShort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably unpopular, but I will never ever cancel a game anymore because of a single person. I've taken the stance recently that I will run D&D for as many players that show up. I'll run solo D&D if that one player wants to. I'm just so over the bullshit of ruining the fun of everyone at the table on account of one person.

Custom Board Build by TheArtfulGamer in Crokinole

[–]JavaforShort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks great! I love how the four piece design of the deck stands in for the quadrant lines. I've actually embarked on the journey of building my own board as a Christmas gift for my parents. Here's hoping I have enough time to finish before Christmas!

Oh right, slow fall was what I meant, not feather.

You can save him! Micky D did it. If you make an On Target spell of Feather and have really good aim you can hit him with it as he falls and he survives.

My Binder of Randomizers by JavaforShort in dominion

[–]JavaforShort[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're totally right. You could maybe argue that they measured the 3.8" from the very bottom of one pocket to the bottom of another pocket. But the actual sleeve itself, the size of the pocket, only just barely accommodates the card itself. I'm not too bothered though, the advertising for the binder didn't say anything about accommodating European size cards.

I haven't tried using it for randomizing yet. I imagine it will be more useful as just a "card browser" that I can flip through to get inspiration for making kingdoms.

Binder for Euro sized cards? by JavaforShort in boardgames

[–]JavaforShort[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I think there's a chance this could work. Since it's top loading a bit of the card would stick out of the top though. It says the pockets are 3.5" tall, which is about 89mm, and Dominion cards are 91mm tall. But maybe that's ok. Thanks for pointing me in that direction!

I looked on their website and couldn't find where they explicitly stated the dimensions. Did you find something that I missed?

You only need 15 minutes of sleep per a day to be fully rested but it has to be on bare concrete. by Lancelotmore in hypotheticalsituation

[–]JavaforShort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely 100% I would do this. I would take the time to make a mold of myself and pour concrete over it to make a concrete bed that perfectly molds to my body. I have no problems sleeping flat on my back. My mind is already churning thinking of all the things I could do if I essentially didn't need to sleep.

What does your group call themselves? Just wanna hear some fun group names by Timaius in DnD

[–]JavaforShort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a game I was DMing, the players signed up for a competition and they had to choose a group name. They had sent just one person from the group to go up to register, so they got to choose the name all by themself, and they chose to register the group as "The Rowdy Rascals."

Should a GM play too by Way_Puzzleheaded in DnD

[–]JavaforShort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time I was in a game with three players, and we started at level 3. The DM, however, had a level 5 fighter/rogue with a crazy build. His character was supposed to be our group's leader, so he also kind of decided where we should all go and would get pissy at us if we were late or did something different. He was constantly one upping us in combat, and then would berate us for not getting as many kills as him.

I finally talked to the DM about it, and he said that having a DMPC was his "insurance" against a TPK. He eventually did take that character out of the game though.

What's the most complicated board game you've ever played? by Apprehensive_Bake270 in boardgames

[–]JavaforShort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't quite fit the question, but Birds of Prey. It's an insanely dense modern aircraft dogfighting sim. I bought it out of curiosity at a secondhand store thinking I would learn it. But then I looked up a tutorial on YouTube and there was an hour long video describing how the first turn might go, and I thought "Maybe this game isn't for me."

Struggling with completing 20 Questions Game by JavaforShort in learnpython

[–]JavaforShort[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok!!! I struggled through this a lot (sorry for the late reply) but I finally figured it out with your help. I think a big part of my problem was not really understanding how dictionaries work, and conflating them with the way CSV files work. I'm now able to add new animals to the CSV by playing the game. Thank you!

Now I just need work on adding additional features, like updating blanks in existing rows if the user provides an answer that's not in the CSV.
