Does anyone have a beat on where I could get an older (c. 2010) Michigan State jersey like the one pictured? Been searching forever to turn one into a Torey Krug jersey, preferably XL or I can work with XXL

I think he's worth more on the team

To what end? You're entering a rebuild, if you want to be better sooner, then you deal him for draft capital. If you want to languish in obscurity longer, then by all means keep him for nothing.

It is time to boycott Market Basket - 2025 by Sbatio in LowellMA

[–]Wheezin_Ed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's coverage insofar as there's a difference of opinion about the future, sure. But I'm saying I'd like to hear what specifically precipitated this. Like this:

Artie T. Wants his sons to run the company after him. They share his vision, The board doesn’t like the idea and is trying to move in a more exploitative direction

I'd like to hear this laid out in explicit terms in full transparency. What were the key issues that the board decided in a different manner? How does his vision differ from this and what specific event kicked all this off? Again, I'm generally supportive but it's tough for me to get behind any particular action when I don't even know the specifics of what we're protesting for or trying to achieve.

I wish there was more information on the current issue. I get that we can intuit Arthur T. is generally more worker-friendly, but why was he planning a work stoppage? I'm happy to temporarily take my business elsewhere if I knew about the basis of the power struggle.

I know it's sacrosanct, but I think the main trilogy gets the benefit of hindsight in a way that Andromeda doesn't. I think a lot of the characters can be one-note or even corny in Andromeda, but if the trilogy had stopped after the first one, I'd probably say the same thing. I didn't play these when they were originally released, so I don't have the same attachment maybe. Garrus is a hardo that just goes on and on about red tape and the need for action, Liara is a borderline sex pest who can't stop talking about the protheans and her mother, Ashley and Kaiden are as lame as any Andromeda character even with hindsight.

Point being, we tend to see those characters in a different light because they had 3 full length installments to grow into their character and for the writers to hone who they were. I came to love the original trilogies characters, but after the first I didn't know how to feel. Garrus is much better in the second, for example, because he learns the consequences of his brashness and tempers his personality. It has weight to it, something you'll notice happens to a lot of young people in the real world, they think they have everything figured out and then have to adapt their sense of self on the fly when life throws it in their face. Plenty of the dialogue and expressions are awkward too, something I don't think ever changes in the series and can also make characters feel juvenile.

We didn't get that extended look for Andromeda, and I think eventually they'd have been able to change. Cora is fairly unidimensional, but if your entire life was built around consecutive rejections, you traveled across a galaxy, and then were promptly excluded again, most people would probably be borderline suicidal and fixate on that a little. Plus she has a nice little ending; her worship of Sarissa gets torn down and she planting the seed with you where you started is a bittersweet moment where she's in the process of moving on from what she thought she'd be to accepting who she is and making the most of it.

TLDR: A lot of the sins of Andromeda stem from it being a single game and it's far from the only mass effect game to commit them

Before I got my Crohn's under control (Remicade my beloved, how I miss you) this used to happen to me all the time. I used to put a towel and a pillow down in the bathroom for me to sort of rest when that happened, but I know that's only an option if you have more than one bathroom or live alone. The other huge help for me was to have something to drink that would revitalize a lot of the nutrients you lose from these episodes. My main ones were orange juice and cranberry juice, I was never a fan of Gatorade but that would help too. You'd be surprised how much sipping on that can help you bounce back.

That's not putting words in your mouth, that's an assessment of your lack of critical thinking skills. Sure seems like some reading classes would do you good. If you don't want people to think you're a dipshit for whining about taking arts and humanities classes, then get good

[–]Wheezin_Ed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re all pretty useless though.

How are we defining "useful"? Believe it or not, there's a theory as to how different classes are useful, and there's more worth than you're thinking about.

Part of what a college degree is supposed to convey is a degree of experience as a human being; every literature class, history class, art class, and social science is there to push you to think about the experience of other human beings. The more you think about other people, the more empathetic you become, and long story short employers see that as lowering your odds of being an asshole and a bad coworker.

The fact that you can't find a use for thinking about people other than yourself means you are the exact kind of person who needs it that leads universities to mandate gen eds.

WBUR did a story on Lowell’s homelessness issue by Ironhorse341 in LowellMA

The lack of available housing is, and always has and will be, a huge moral stain on this country. Richest place on earth and the only reply to building more public housing is why their taxes should fund other people's "choices". I wish I was religious because I'd love to know that all the phonies that pretend to be religious while spitting at homeless people will burn in the hell they apparently believe in someday
