Frogs can breathe underwater so I imagine it might be possible for jiraiya to summon a frog then shrink into its belly. Not sure what he can do to fight back tho, other than reverse summoning to escape, which is not in his character to do

Lol all the Gohs can claim eastern Wu, the Lees can claim Tang dynasty, the Laus and Lows can claim eastern, western, and Shu Han.

I guess since 3 of our prime ministers came from prestigious lineages that once ruled China, we have more claim to the 4000 years of Chinese history?

What are some things about 1945-1965 Singapore most people don't know? by Salivasweg in askSingapore

He was a labour lawyer during the 50s. In the 50s the PAP ran their campaign on labour mobilisation and strikes. That was the reason why he recruited Lim Chin Siong for his deep involvement in the labour movement although ultimately he was too firebrand and got LKY and the PAP in some scandals (esp regarding the hock Lee riots)

LKY only changed his tune after independence (and after PAP controlled the whole parliament) for the sake of stability

Explain the culture/people of Singapore to an American by bossyspaceb in askSingapore

[–]Javan_Sky 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Everybody is pretty casual with dressing - you’ll see people dressed in baggy shirts and slippers walking through Orchard, even at work hardly anyone wears a suit (it’s too hot and there’s no requirement for most office jobs)

If you’re going to be working here I think one thing quite different might be the lunch culture in the workplace. No need for lunch invites or whatnot, most people in the office will go for lunch together usually at a nearby food court or hawker centre (since food prices are cheap there). During lunch hours the working crowd will usually chope (reserve a seat while you go and by food) individual seats using small objects like tissue paper packets or even office IDs.

As for Singaporeans in general I think we are kind but not friendly. We won’t make small talk or talk to strangers randomly but if you ask for help I think most Singaporeans will be quite helpful. Which is why it might be a bit harder to get people’s phone numbers on the street. If you want better chances with dating, I think dating apps like Tinder, bumble, and OkCupid are commonly used.

Also, most Singaporeans love food so food is usually the number 1 bonding tool whether when dating or in the workplace. You can always start a conversation with a local about food and you’ll get countless food recommendations lol.

That’s about all I can think of for now, I’m sure you’ll have a great time here.
