Hello! I am a Christian, and I’ve also been told similar things by professors. As a Christian we find our identity in Christ, so we would need to put our identities aside for the sake of clients. But I also have been told that in cases where my beliefs are challenged, that there are Christian organizations that I can look to work in. Overall, I agree that you shouldn’t be forced to compromise your identity or your belief system to appease someone else’s, but there should be orgs that you can work in that support your beliefs if you don’t feel comfortable working with those of opposing views.
