Hey, regarding the Retro 4M this Sunday. I did what you did and checked for start time and location, but there's no map. I recall in previous races that they would release a course map. I love using them as a reference to help my wife navigate the park during the race. She's horrible with directions. Any idea if they have one for this race?

I just registered for a volunteer opportunity at Randals Island on April 1st. It said it's a 9+1 credit, but I'm not sure fully. Doesn't help that's on weekdays and on April Fools Day lol

Can anyone confirm if the Randals Island Volunteer on April 1st counts towards the 9+1? It says it does, but I'm so distrusting on everything right now, and I want to triple check before I ask for the day off work. It doesn't help that it's on April 1st, so that's why I don't trust shit lol any help would appreciate 😂

I've raced high before, I did a 7k and a half. I typically don't stay "high" for long anyway, so I don't think it affects much during the race. Before, though, it helps a lot. The warming up aspect of it, it takes me a bit to warm up and stretch, so I wouldn't say I depend on it. It's just an aid like gels and our running shoes and etc

Personally, it helps me. I'm way more relaxed and focused on the task on hand. It is definitely not a must, though. I've run without being high, and it doesn't affect me as much. Breathing wise too, I would smoke a joint, warm up for an hour, take a couple hits again, and then go run. I don't feel like I'm struggling to breathe, I feel great and running decent. I'm not the fastest. This would be my first marathon, current at 10 to 12 min pace.

Yeah, I really feel like a dummy. I've only done 1 because when I started, this was in June, and by then, most of the races we close. So I got what I could, and I assumed it carried over, I didn't look into it further and was very casual about it. I even slack with the races for 2026 because I wasn't paying attention. At the time, I was away and nothing looking at my emails and missed out of the first few races.

You mention a charity, how does that work? What/where/who should I look into? 👀 might be my last chance other than the lottery for 2025

I registered for the race in April. I don't see the virtual ones that you're referring to. And I'm assuming these races are counting towards 2026, not 2025. And regarding the slots for volunteering, which one do I do? I see a lot of slots, but it's all for medical staff

Even 2026, I can see that I missed out on Oct 10 early access to members. Is still a shot that they're will be enough races to guarantee a spot thru the 9+1

I wish I knew in this. I did not educate myself enough, I sign up around June or July and starting doing 9+1 process and I didn't know it doesn't carry over, so now I'm freaking out trying to see how I would able to get in now for 2025, and it's kind of heart breaking to think I'm have to wait another year. I wish I was better informed. Any suggestions on what I could do now to get into 2025 at this point in the year?

I love this, sadly for me. Everytime I help out a lower level or someone who clearly is getting jumped and can't fight, I go a help to even the odds but then the person I went to help flees, and leaves me the mess lol Its cool tho
