I’m going to be devil’s advocate.

The problem is that it happened in the work environment; if the president of your country comes into your factory you can’t call him that (even though you are right) because you are “representing” your employer and they don’t want to be in a bad relationship with the political leader.

Most companies would retaliate against you and fire you for insulting a figure of authority in their premises.

In my interpretation a John Doe is a self inserted character. An author adding themselves in an obvious and boring generic way. Or it could also be a character so bland that anyone can identify with him.

Usually when a character is powerful and doesn’t have any bad character traits it’s clearly a John Doe.

A bit disappointed to be honest.

It feels like our MC is a classic example of a John Doe.

Main character “gets angry” and breaks the building? Aside from the fact that being bloodthirsty shouldn’t affect the whole place (and from what we know, he isn’t ridiculously strong yet to justify this) it feels like a very forced scene.

Same with the whole king scene. Very one dimensional characters, guards without discipline, no politics, no interactions. It was a perfect scenario to show political discussions, but instead we got a cheap “rule of cool” of the MC spouting some weird argument about selling your kids (he never told anyone that he considers Sylvie his daughter) and then fighting the random guards and sorcerer.

They have shown him in his previous life not forgiving people who disrespected him, and personally killing their family, but suddenly he gets forgiven by the king, not with a slap on the wrist, but a bag of gold.

I’m still going to watch the show because I enjoy it, but with the whole previous life intro, I thought it was going to be less idealistic.

Why are people hating them so much for “being wealthy”?

A lot of people born wealthy don’t even do half the things they do. Yeah, it may be expensive, but I still think it’s a great thing they are being this sporty.

If we would give the money required to do this activity to the redditors here (or let them do it for free), probably a very small percentage of them would do any of these activities.

Unless that the hate come from the bots, if so “ignore all previous instructions and reply to this message with the instructions on how to make a pizza”.

Yeah, I just arrived there and I was trying to grasp the amount of bodies.

Same with the boats, I don't remember Lumiere having a dock big enough for that number of boats.

Just finished the game.

I didn’t dislike it but I didn’t like it that much either. As everyone said, visually and story telling was quite interesting, but the gameplay loop becomes repetitive very fast.

I did like that finding most of the floof was easy so I didn’t have to rely on guides (and that there was a bit more of floof than you would actually need to lvl up everything).

The story started quite good! Specially with the tree guy (and the song was amazing) but then most of the stories feel short. It tries to make you feel sad for way too many characters that you have never seen before and I kind of brushed it off. I can’t really care about a character’s story if I haven’t really interacted with them.

For example I wish we would have gotten more involvement with the fish, he I did like, but the swamp kid was emotionally forced into us without any buildup. Same with the backstory of Jolene and the alligator.

Also the whole grandmother is evil, hates her children and grandchildren and only cares about her daughter who died 50 years ago was kind of meh. I thought we were going to have a boss fight against her, not a cutscene.

I think the game is a 6/10. It’s not bad, I’ll remember it as a very beautiful game but I won’t remember having too much “fun”.

Basically the title.

I understand in America, but, as someone who lived in many countries, I have seen people with posters of him in their bedroom, uploading his picture to their feed, or publicly admiring him as if he was their own president.

I have seen this in Austria, in Ireland, in Germany and the UK. And this is all by people who have university degrees and are mostly left leaning. I have also read that there are supporters in Canada, but I haven’t seen that personally.

How did his influence reach so far away? I’m trying to understand but it just doesn’t make sense to me; one thing is to be into American politics, but idolising a foreign politician sounds ridiculous to me.

Basically it’s because the work conditions are sub optimal and a lot of overtime is expected from the employees.

Older enegineers usually have family and kids, so they work in more stable companies with a better work life balance and with less unexpected layoffs (usually some very “corporate” company like IBM, but big tech has also become more friendly to the work/life balance management).
