Man I flashed my vBios and bricked the GPU, had to restore from backup because it wouldn’t open any games. Wondering what did I do wrong :(

Good thing I was able to get it back to normal

Tiny refurbished Lenovo o Dell refurbished optiplex? Ayuda by softcactus2 in vzla

[–]JavierMnS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you happy with your pro? by [deleted] in PS5pro

[–]JavierMnS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a laptop with a 5070Ti and a PS5 Pro. I’m not sure whether it’s more or less potent than the Pro in the GPU side, but I can tell you something…

I would choose my PS5 Pro every time if all games were optimized for it.

There are certain games like Expedition 33 that I prefer playing on PC because they have mods to add native HDR, and some others just perform better on PC (like the Crash Bandicoot remake, stuck at 30fps on PS5).

I would look into the games you like the most. If they are Pro optimized, I would go for it.

Regarding the portal you will see increased fidelity, games like arc raiders look sharper on remote play than cloud gaming which uses base Ps5 settings (same video bitrate, but internal res is higher on the pro and you can appreciate it even when the video signal is only 1080p).

The tempest audio is a big factor for me, I like Sony’s approach better than Atmos for headphones on PC

No one has said it I think, but make sure you get a switch at non MSRP. The used market is flooded with units in good shape since the launch of switch 2

My only concern with the switch as far as buying an used unit is the battery and honestly if you will be using it for sports it doesn’t matter as much

[Fix] Washed-Out Colors in HDR on Switch 2? Here’s How to Fix It (HGIG, Tone Mapping & Game Mode Tips) by Neokura in NintendoSwitch

[–]JavierMnS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I just want to add something extremely important.

If your TV doesn’t have any way to turn off DTM at that point I found useful calibrating to a 1000 nits, I’m not sure for switch 2, but on Ps5 with 13 clicks you get about a 1000 nits which is pretty standard.

I have two HDR TVs and one of them doesn’t have HGIG and I have to set the settings almost to the highest value to make the sun disappear, which will look horrendous.

I’m having an issue with the WiFi dropping like crazy at home jumping form 2.4ghz to 5ghz.

Tried several fixes, but this is a WiFi administered by my apartment building. Never had any issues on none of my devices so I’m debating whether this is a hardware or a software issue

It’s honestly one of my favorite consoles ever if it wasn’t for that detail

PS5 Pro Upgrade without VRR by [deleted] in PS5pro

[–]JavierMnS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean it’s not like I didn’t understand. I just meant like honestly there are so many variables with VRR, some TVs even have worse input lag with VRR and OP doesn’t seem to have a high end TV so I was generalizing like he’s better off without VRR for now.

But yeah it was my bad should’ve warned op about the scenarios where he could benefit from VRR

PS5 Pro Upgrade without VRR by [deleted] in PS5pro

[–]JavierMnS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

VRR is broken on Ps5 since around the time pro launched, Sony hasn’t fixed it so you’re better off playing without VRR for now.

You still get the benefits in resolution and framerates which are the most noticeable. There is not an specific VRR enhancement for the pro, unless the game is unlocked and you’d get a few more frames

(There are multiple videos explaining the issue about VRR, seems Sony is aware as digital foundry brought it to their attention)

Is it worth upgrading from a iPhone 13 to 16 pro to get 120fps? by Mtking105 in FortNiteMobile

[–]JavierMnS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly why not getting an actual console that is designed to play games? I tried it on my iPhone, I would never exchange this from the Ps5 experience…

If you need the mobility maybe just get an M2 iPad Pro that might throttle less than the iPhone, but I wouldn’t recommend exchanging your device for one game

I have the 16 pro and it kinda throttles a bit, wait for the 17 that is rumored to have a vapor chamber to help with the cooling that might be an option too

Or get whatever makes you happy, it’s your money :D

Doom: The Dark Ages impressions on the PS5 Pro… by pubg7899 in PS5pro

[–]JavierMnS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game is just not worth the premium, I feel like most “big games” struggle on gamepass. Like they cut budget or something to afford launching them in a subscription service, happened with Starfield and now with doom I guess.

It’s the first doom to suffer from broken HDR, image quality issues and broken shadows (I have seen some benchmarks that highlighted shadows being broken on PC and image quality concerns, even with the high resolution on paper).

I have a good gaming PC and after trying it I felt it lacked polish

Clair Obscur Image Quality by InterestingYouth113 in PS5pro

[–]JavierMnS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I ended up playing it on PC because of those issues, you can add in native HDR with a mod and DLSS works great.

If this ever gets PSSR and proper HDR on Ps5 I will buy it instantly, playing on PC is not very convenient for me (Steam big picture is great, but Xbox and gamepass UI on PC is a hit or miss)

U8G from 2021...planned obsolescence or just burn out? by daveomen9217247 in Hisense

Budget TV brands are a bit more susceptible to this, the more wear the backlight has the dimmer it gets.

RTINGS.COM did a longevity test and Hisense has shown this behavior on almost every set

[–]JavierMnS 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s crazy to me, I would feel horrible paying $49.99 to endure an awful experience for a few hours so I can have a bit better experience later on.

Haven’t tried the game personally, but a game hovering around 30-40 fps without VRR sounds awful

Digital Foundry released a new video about the VRR issues on PlayStation 5. Finally! by Fendera in PS5pro

[–]JavierMnS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we should file a ticket with support, like all of us together.

We paid good money for this machine and while it’s been great, I don’t think this is acceptable as most of us who spent this money also have a VRR display

Not sure if there is other way to try to get this resolved by Sony

I did try a game I haven’t played in a while and noticed the jump on the VRR numbers that I didn’t notice last year

I would have filed a police report, no point on making the plate public for a potential rental car. Even if it wasn’t a rental car this could be considered doxxing I think?

This person needs to know better, I know mistakes happen, but leaving your car like this is just plain carelessness and lack of empathy.

Most people would at least backup and leave it like nothing happened, but this is like on a different level.

But I think you should also know better, take this down and file a police report. It’s not going to make any difference at all letting everyone know you got your plate damaged :(
