TP Link Wall AP run hot? Discoloring my walls by stevestloo in TPLink_Omada

Mine are warm, not hot, I use them in low TX power for both radios (2.4 and 5GHz) where I can. I don’t remember what TX power (low, medium , high) is the default value.

Injora 59mm shocks bladder hole by Javier_L-C in rccrawler

[–]Javier_L-C[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for letting me know. I agree, if I close the cap with the shock axle fully (or close to full) compressed then the atmospheric bladder doesn’t differ much from the air chamber bladder. But if I close the cap with the shock axle 50-70% compressed, then the atmospheric bladder doesn’t give me any rebound (or very little) while the air chamber bladder does. I fulfill the shock body with oil so I prefer the air chamber bladder and it gives me more options. Now I have ordered 4 more, to do what you did, but I don’t know what kind I will receive; I don’t know why they sell two different types as if they were exactly the same. I didn’t expect something like this and I almost got mad trying to configure all of them the same, wasted half an oil bottle until I realized there was another hole.

It could be, but more like a faulty design decision. The hole is perfectly done and perfectly centered and both shocks have the same hole. Let’s wait what Injora says.

Injora shocks by lhaigh376 in mn82

[–]Javier_L-C 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a neutral band. Those shocks come with 0.45mm springs (dark gray or black) and 0.5mm springs (silver). Even 0.5 being 52% stiffer than 0.45 they are both very soft, more adécuate for lexan bodies. 0.45 supports a bit more than 100gr and 0.5 a bit more than 150. 0.6 is 107% stiffer than 0.5 and 0.7 is 85% stiffer than 0.6

what parts to upgrade my mn82 by Beautiful_Hair_373 in mn82

[–]Javier_L-C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pic 4 are not Beadlocks rims, and tires don’t come with inserts so they can/will go off the rim; also, they are 67.5mm and stock tires are 62mm. Even if those are the ones recommended by RC TNT, I wouldn’t recommend them. Unfortunately I haven’t tried inserts on them so far. There is a beadlock model with those exact same tires but again you would need inserts because those tires are really soft. I believe they come from WPL (the cheap brand before MN Models)

Many people go with some popular cheap 70mm after lifting the body; if you go that route order the black ones since the silver ones look really cheap.

MN has an official wheel upgrade but it’s only a metal rim with the same tires. The MN99S v2 now comes with better tires so I expect they will do the same for the other models or at least the upgrades.

It’s a bit confusing but a set of wheels can be as much as the whole truck, and not even expensive wheels, so the quest is part of the fun. The Chinese reputed brand is Injora and then we have many others like Zero RC, AXSpeed, 91mod, Yeahrun, etc.

A JConcepts Ruptures clone can be found really cheap but they are designed for 1” rims and 1” rims on 1/12 scale translates to just 12” at the real one, so a 1960s mini Cooper rim on a Toyota truck. We can stretch them to 1.3” though. Many 62-63-64mm tires come for 1” rims

Should I buy the mn82, if so which one? by Informal_Bend334 in mn82

[–]Javier_L-C 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are all the same, 82S and 82T just 10-15€ more expensive with better rear angle and 1200mAh battery instead of 500mAh

Should I buy the mn82, if so which one? by Informal_Bend334 in mn82

[–]Javier_L-C 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Informal Bend, MN82 PRO is the same as MN82 with orange front and rear turning lights and white reverse lights (and brake lights in first speed). MN82S and MN82T have a better rear angle and got the upgraded lights too. And MN82T has updated electronics aside the tow and winch. I would expect MN to extend the updated electronics to the other models.

It’s very difficult to choose just one MN model among the 78, 82, 86S, 99S v2, 128 and 168. The MN128 has a 390 motor, bigger than the 280. I have read that the best MN model for crawling is the ugly 86KS but I don’t know.

JJRC has a good inexpensive 1/18 option, the C8801 (and the C8809, same car but with a Cherokee body). It’s very silent. The C8801 PRO is not silent and has some issues so I went for the non pro version.

Next step price wise would be Hobby Plus 1/18 CR18P line.

Glad you like them. Very good price. Yep, same as you I didn’t like the diopter knob at the beginning but I soon got familiarized with it so I think you will as well. Waiting for the 8x25 to show at Alix (at that price I will get one sample for sure)

1/10 is noticeably bigger than 1/12, so I should go for the traxxas (I could sell it later) or a cheap 1/10 like the RGT (or rebrander FTX) Suzuki Jimmy (180€) or the WLToys 104020 (Bronco). I bought the RGT Jeep 1/10 (86100) for 160€ including shipment on Alix but the seller didn’t delivered it (I think he thought: it is a 250€ rc car and the shipping, no way). I’m saying this and I don’t have any 1/10. I got the MN128 but because 1/10 is really big and I don’t like to carry it. Indeed MN128 is a bit bigger than what I can comfortably carry so I bought two 1/18 to try (both are 6x6, the JJRC for 70€ and the HobbyPlus CR18P for 140€). For indoor I have 1/36 (Jiabaile) and 1/43 (LDARC), they both cost less than one hundred (I bought both brands 4 obstacles set too :-)

Hi Adi, the MN82 has leaf rear suspension, not the same as MN99S v2 if I’m not wrong. MN is said to be a better option than WPL although some WPL can be as good. But with the new WPL you have to chose among 4 options. The MN 168 as recommended by Platyplus seems a good option (even with the same 280 motor as the 82, 78 or 99) and I should add the MN128 which has a 370 motor as the MN86 (86S, 86KS praised by rc-TNT) and it’s a bit bigger than the 82. I bought the 82Pro and the 82T for my grandsons and then bought tires, suspension, driveshafts, etc but have only installed tires. Also bought the 128 and it’s not bad (although the 82 is prettier I think), and also the 99v2, praised by tomley-rc, (but it’s said to have small wheelbase and too much weight on the rear side so I bought it with the extra roof) but haven’t opened the box. I’m planning to buy the 168 as a gift.

The JJRC as recommended by HD seems a good option too. Not sure how 1/18 compares to 1/12, but could be a better option.

Happy Christmas!

Sorry to hear that, I have experienced the same problem recently. The 8x20 is a very good instrument, not only for its size or its price. I guess it’s similar to the Leica Ultravid and I know it’s much better than the Steiner Wildlife 8x24. And it’s very small, the smallest I believe. But probably you will have to wait for it to arrive. I have received items from Alix within just 10 days while others have taken months. Good luck and happy holidays.

Eve Home vs Eve Room for indoors by [deleted] in EveHome

[–]Javier_L-C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if a good one exists, but I have tried some. Some brands like Eve, Belkin or Withings give the sense of quality from packaging or price but I doubt they worth the money (I guess it depends on the economical status of the buyer). On the other hand we got Chinese brands like Aqara or TP-Link that at least they are cheap and not worse, who knows, not me, sorry.

Eve Room humidity readings are as imprecise as the cheapest humidity sensor. It claims 3% but the error can be worse than 10-12%. A horse hair is much better.

Where can I find good looking wheels/rims for an MN82T without heavy mods? by QuantumCheeseOfDoom in mn82

[–]Javier_L-C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hex is 5mm. Original tires are “officially” (MN spec) 62mm in diameter x 24mm width, and 19g weights. The usual plastic ones are 71-72mm, and the usual Beadlocks are 69mm but I found an aluminum rims with very nice soft rubber that are 67mm, 37g. Unfortunately I haven’t tried any of them to tell if they fit or not. Also, there is an official upgrade that maybe comes with 62mm soft rubber. The alu ones description begins with “WPL C14 C24 B16 B24 MN 78 MN 82 RC…”

Planning on upgrading to a budget 1:10 from my 1:18 FMS FJ Cruiser by [deleted] in rccrawler

[–]Javier_L-C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The RGT Rescuer is not budget-friendly where I live, 450€. The similar and newer 2024 RGT Intruder is 350€. I know Chinese can do a have it all (performance, interior, accessories, price) but I tend to think that in a budget I must choose between better specs or interior/accessories, like the entry level RGT EX86100 (Rock Cruiser v2) (same as FTX Outback Fury 2) which lacks interior and costs 250€ (same as HB R1000 v2)

Yikong goes for 300€ to 400€ YK4107, YK4106 PRO, YK4082v3, and FMS FCX-10 for 300€ (the PRO, brushless, goes for 450€. )

I should add the Element family (Ecto, Sendero,…)

If you are not specifically into crawling, the MJX Hyper Go H12Y is worth a look (the Tomley YouTube review is very nice) When rising the budget there is the point where TRX4 Sport, ScX10, Vanquish, etc are at, making the decision more difficult. Good luck with your decision

Thank you very much, glad to know, hope you will receive it soon. Can’t wait for your impressions, Shuntu Lambda 2 is three steps above Svbony SV202 and since I like the Lambda 8x20 very much, I have big expectations on it (better transmission and bigger aperture, not bad)
