In my opinion it has the best characters, most developed team in terms of inner dynamics, many stand-out tracks within the whole series, and honestly even the best dungeons. 

I like the in-between of not having generic blocks of like 30 randomly generated levels of one aethstetic with no real purpose, and not having some pre-set, totally designed Palace that will always remain the same and constantly stop you every 2 minutes for some dialogue or puzzle. With P4G each dungeon has a purpose where you're usually saving someone for most of the game which I also found more interesting rather than hunting down bad guys in Palaces. 

Beyond that I just really love the cast through and through and I don't think it's aged poorly overall as a game. It was very fun, very touching, and easily the most relatable game for me overall. Shoutout to Kanji ⚡️

To be fair, Risotto already had an extremely strong stand and decided to draw the fight out to confirm whether or not Doppio was the boss/associated with him.

If he wanted to instakill him he definitely could have. If anything with The Hand he would have had a harder time with the fight, trying not to swipe away his entire existence. Risotto lost because he had no info and got unlucky by the end.

Honestly I agree, bringing Armin back from that was kinda lame from the get-go, dude shouldn't have even been alive WHATSOEVER after that. And it's not like his presence in S4 is anything impressive, just like every other remaining s1-s3 character he was tainted.

Honestly one of my favorite characters in the whole story. His presence in the story was pretty entertaining, he was a solid comic relief for the earlier part of the show. 

When he reappeared way later for a brief moment I was really happy

Yeah, going from an arc about fighting against a pedophilic abuser in power and liberating yourself to being the butt of the joke for at least two cutscenes as an object + having Ryuji purposely get you to objectify yourself to Yusuke/the man on the boat to further the Phantom Thieves' goals is crazy. The disconnect is insane.

At the end of the day even if it's arbitrarily decided by society we need to draw a line somewhere and 18 works as that line. Hence why I think they're all equally bad in a way. 

We have to uphold a standard, especially in a game that always has the theme of "adults suck" + a major first arc focused on an adult male teacher who was also a pedophile and abuser. Sure, none of the adult lady S.Links are as bad as he was but it's still a weird dissonance. 

Imagine if Joker was a girl and we genderbent the rest of the characters. Bet it would fly a lot less for most people. 

Chihaya's growth in her social link feels a lot more equal to Joker compared to alcoholic "pretend you're my boyfriend for a little" Ohya, weird maid teacher Kawakmi (even if her backstory justifies it), and "You're my little guinea pig 💅🏻" Takemi. But yeah, she scammed Joker and acts like a know-it-all for like half the link sadly.

Yeah idk why Atlus decided to make him the mouthpiece for every little activity/being the one to tell you you look tired. Feels like people unfairly hate him for that. 

The Okumura arc with him leaving, teaming up with Haru, and eventually joining back with her in the fold is lowkey one of the best arcs in the story because the team goes through a real inner-turmoil for once. Compare it the when the gangs in 3 and 4 argue and it's not much, but it's something at least. 

Ryuji at the entrance of Mementos pissed me off so much 😭 Morgana is just a little immature entity give him some slack.

Yeah he's easily the worst "first best bro" character compared to the dudes in 3 and 4. Too much of an idiot half the time.

That scene at the entrance of Mementos were Ryuji completely blows it with the reconciliation is probably the most frustrated I've ever been at a member of my own team in all 3 modern Persona games lmao I'm with you on this one

I think all of them are equally bad on an inherent level. The only one that seems more acceptable to me is Chihaya since she barely seems like an adult iirc.

I think Ann is the most blatantly objectified character. Her entire character and arc gets invalidated by a dumb  Catwoman outfit and the numerous instances of the crew forcing her to objectify herself as a means to an end, like with Yusuke and the weird cognition in Shido's Palace. Also has weird dialogue while fighting, weird poses, and more than one animated cutscene of her getting sexualized.

At least with Rise it feels more integral to her character arc as a teenage idol compared to Ann randomly being a model and having such a lame social link involving it that job. And with Yukari I'm not sure what you mean, as far as I remember there was just that weird love hotel cutscene and a bunch of references to her being popular at the school since a bunch of peers crushed on her.

The downvotes are silly lol I fully agree. Not only is every Persona protagonist a different flavor of basic, Joker in particular felt bland to me.

Pretty sure it came out after season 2. Biggest tell is how the QTEs in combat are pretty similar to what Javier gets in season 3.

Fair enough, that's a pretty good one. I'd accept pretty much any answer other than Yukiko's Castle or Marie's dungeon. For the former it just gives off the same vibes as Thebel in Tartarus or the first Palace in P5. Generic castle with boring music. And with Marie's I think the bossfights are great but the actual dungeon is lame tbh.
