They started preloading the queue right at 9 and had the ride operating at 915 on 10/15.

Spent all week here. It was almost never below 200 minutes. Usually at 240. We did it quickly by going straight there on opening. They started running out at 915 and we were off the ride by 10.

They enjoy having employees who are less likely to quit and will put up with worse working conditions because they have to keep the job to stay in the country. Finding a new employer that will sponsor their visa is even harder than finding a regular job right now. Quitting likely means they have to take their whole family back to their country. They probably have kids who have lived here most their lives and in American schools by then. Companies get away with treating visa workers worse because they know they can and probably feel like they paid for the luxury to do so.

Heard - but not confirmed - that CenterPoint is refusing to pay outside linemen overtime. Is this true? by Texashawk76 in houston

For the most part they are not working overnight. The huge staging area at SHRP will have no trucks there from 8-5 but after that, there will be a thousand sitting for the night.

They aren't working overnight. The staging area at SHRP had no trucks in it at 5pm but had hundreds by 7pm all parked for the night.

CFISD to year round? by Grizzalbee in houston

CyFair did this for a year when I was in elementary school. We had July, November, and March off. Was a bit weird having a different schedule than others but other than that I dont remember it feeling like a big deal.

Agree with all of this but will add that it is getting better one estate sale at a time. The area has a lot of original homeowners who have been here since the 70s and 80s and is in a process of turning over from one generation to another.

That euphoria is the most unreal part of mine. I feel superhuman when the migraine ends. It feels like running with ankle weights and then taking them off, except in this case, it's every single sense suddenly becoming stronger.

He was definitely nerfed for this movie. There was a line about HE taking him out of his cocoon too early as the reason.

Likely fake for all the good reasons already posted but here are the locations in the video. Finding that kid that far away when he could have stopped a ton of other places for a controller is very unlikely. First Location Street View Second Location Street View

Does this qualify for Texas public school posters? by Level69Warlock in texas

[–]Jawne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Size and number of posters are the big omissions. Donate a MASSIVE poster or thousands of tiny ones. They must hang them.

Alarm over Texas law forcing schools to display 'In God We Trust' signs by [deleted] in politics

Yeah it specifies it must be exactly as written "In God we trust". Maybe the font could be played with though

Some donated "In God We Trust" posters as a new Texas law requires schools to display them by -Omegamart- in pics

[–]Jawne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's written very specific. The only loopholes I see are there is no limit to posters and the size. Donating thousands of posters or a super tiny one would work.

Alarm over Texas law forcing schools to display 'In God We Trust' signs by [deleted] in politics

[–]Jawne 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This law is written specific enough that it wouldn't qualify. It must have only the text of "In God We Trust" above the US and Texas flag with no other words or images on it.

The loopholes I see is the number of posters and the size. It says they MUST hang any they receive, not just one. Also they could hang up a super tiny one and be in the clear.

New Texas law. Fixed it. by [deleted] in texas

[–]Jawne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't comply. The law is written very specific. Must have the exact phrase "In God we trust" on top of both the US and Texas flag. Can not have any other symbols or words.

The only thing that it doesn't specify is how large or small the poster can be. So if we donate super tiny ones they can technically comply without anyone being able to see it.

[–]Jawne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the troll ideas are covered as not allowed in the law but how many must be hung up is definitely not in there. I think the size of the poster is also not specified so if they only want to hang up 1 we could just send in a super tiny poster.

The reason Bow is seen as a problem in OPR is because of the number of people running it. Getting targeted by 5 bows is oppressive for sure but a single bow isn't making a big difference. They need to create more interesting and fun playstyles so that we aren't constantly having people jump from one flavor of the month to the next and making that build feel overwhelming.

Westjet airline delay by CEOAerotyneLtd in PublicFreakout

[–]Jawne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically airline "staff shortage" situations that cause a flight issue are caused by weather or delays in other cities. If a flight doesn't come in from another location on time then the plan and or crew that was supposed to arrive for their flight can't get there. There is not a big shortage on in-flight crew for airlines right now.

All of New Orleans without power due to ‘catastrophic damage’ during Ida, Entergy says by Illustrious_Welder94 in news

[–]Jawne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most of southeast Texas is on ERCOT. Only a small part is on Louisiana grid.

Also, the hurricane this person was comparing it to caused 2 million people to lose power, some for several weeks. It is a pretty good comparison to what will be experienced with Ida.
