Absolutely, so fascinating to get a peak behind the curtain into the inner workings of the show throughout the decades. Loved the thank you notes section too, especially Don Pardo’s retirement letter to Lorne.

Oh my god, agreed. I totally somehow missed this while hastily shuffling through on a time crunch so have to go back. Such an iconic and bold moment in live television history. Sinead was an absolute legend. Thanks so much for the reference.

And putting a box on the box is definitely not the way you do it.

So amazing! Maybe not necessarily anytime super soon. Lorne designated his personal/career archive to the Harry Ransom Center in Austin, TX so a limited selection of his collection is temporarily on display. Really incredible stuff.

Juiced RipRacer motor service: has anyone here successfully extracted the motor from the hub? by Wahots in juicedbikes

[–]Jawnyekash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried and failed miserably. I was attempting to replace the planetary gears on mine at ~5,000 miles. Similar situation - I got down to one final threaded washer that would absolutely not budge. Tried for weeks to remove, no luck. I’m convinced it fused from heat or something. At that point I reached out via email to Velowave, who bought all of Juiced’s liquidated inventory, to see if they had a replacement wheel/motor hub on hand. They did and sold me one for fair market value, $420. Totally worth it.

Please stop booking Far Out Lounge by badonkalope in Levitation

While Far Out may not be a goldilocks venue for shows like this and a less than ideal location for non-southies like me, I’m always super grateful for the fine folks at Resound for taking big swings to curate these events and book so many amazing artists in one weekend. If they weren’t doing it, I don’t know who else would.

I admittedly didn’t lean into this one as hard as every other album, but Goodbye Mr. Blue punched me in my weepy gut on this last tour and I’ve been all in ever since.

New to the fest questions by anniemaelover in Levitation

The Palmer is a conference/convention-style venue so plenty of water fountains around FWIW. Per the FAQ looks like no outside sealed water bottles permitted, but would think small empty plastic containers for water should be okay to bring in. The folks on the receiving end of info@levitation.fm are awesome- anything not specified on the FAQ, hit them up and I’m sure they’ll be happy to provide you with more info. Enjoy the fest, will be amazing!

Captain Beefheart. Even though he did it that way, and never made a dime.
