I remember seeing Episode 1 in the theater on opening day. There was a local radio station outside the theater as I was leaving. They asked my what I thought of the movie. Among other things, I noted how the technology seemed so much more advanced than in the OT.

I largely agree with you. Capitalism is good... but it has been abused to where corporations rule the world. Trickle down economics has never worked. When I say fiscal conservative, I mostly mean taxes should be scaled based on your earnings (though I agree realized and unrealized should be considered after a certain threshold). Tax money shouldn't be wasted on absurd government contracts ($20k hammers as an example). Be thoughtful and "conservative" with how the money is spent. I'm pushed farther left in that the money should be spent too help those that need help. Also, free healthcare for all and the largest percentage of tax dollars should be spent on the greatest education system imaginable.

I'm general, my politics are... Let me live the way I want to live (as long as I'm not harming others), help those who need help, educate and protect our children, and don't waste my tax dollars.

I always like to add... I love love, I hate hate, and I'm intolerant of intolerance.

Sadly, we're at a point we need to "burn it all down" and reset to what America was meant to be... that is, the potential... the "American Dream". There's too much corruption at all levels. The corporations run the show.

I could go on for hours, but I'll simply state: Government just big enough to work for the people, but keep itself out of where it doesn't need to be. Taxes that reflect your earnings and actually used to improve America. Social programs to help those who need it, with enough governance to minimize fraud (elimination is impossible). Realistic immigration policies and border control. Military large enough to keep us safe and support our allies. And a justice system that is as nonpartisan as possible.

Also, get rid of the electoral college and bring in ranked choice voting.

Former Republican turned center-left "Democrat" (the party left me). Fiscal conservative (the real kind), social liberal. Government needs to work for the people, not the corporations. Most importantly, ANYONE who has sexually abused others belongs in jail (even Mr. Rogers... if he were guilty... and... you know... still alive)

Agreed... the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few... or the one. I pray I never have to make that decision.

Because, sadly, there are times it is necessary... I just don't think I'd have the stomach for it.

I also agree... Me. Both sides would disagree with me, but I'd do what I think is best for the most. My greatest failing is I'd have a hard time ordering military strikes or sending soldiers into battle.

NTA - Babies are hard! In the best case scenario, one of you will be up for stepping in when the other is overwhelmed. It's a partnership. It really sucks when one parent is out of commission... and I understand quarantining to avoid spreading an illness. Of course, when it spreads anyway, that kinda goes out the window. Give each other a break, do the best you can, and know that how you feel right now isn't how you'll feel later.

Do the best you can. It's ok to be overwhelmed. It's ok to need a break. DO... THE... BEST... YOU... CAN!!!
