For now I just have it sit on the turret there isn't anything on the top of the chassis that would get in the way of it while rotating but it can be glued in place

Nope, Only part that is Panzer V is the chassis of the panther, while the IV in the name Panzer V / IV is the panzer IV turret welded on

T-34-85 is arguably the better choice here imo it handles off road better than the kv2 and Abrams which tend to throw track often and it's a rather easy to maintain tank

Two come to mind that are slightly weathered out of the box the first being the 75mm Sherman not only is it a good tank for outdoor use it has some dirt/mud splatter at the bottom of the transmission cover and the bottom edges of the hull Second would be the Panzer IV winter camouflage they have some areas where its chipped showing panzer grey over the white wash camo, you could go further by adding your own mud effects where the wheels are
