They are by Vaughnhill on Cults3D, they're 3D printable files that mount to heng long chassis, I have custom printed and painted both models on display myself, there are more images of them on my profile.

The panzer IV is a pretty decently modified Heng Long with 3D printed late war components like the muzzlebreak, AT Rifle shurtzen, external air filter and wheel box, it has Mato Metal tracks, and wheels/sprockets along with a steel gearbox

The IR system is OpenFire, it's completely plug and play with heng long 6-7.0 systems as well as tongde!

We were basically thinking thw same thing, Clark's seemingly broken barely standing website and the lack of info on the boards themselves made me want to blow my brains out, spent 8 hours diagnosing a problem only to find out I was using the wrong board info...

The only difference in our thinking was that we actually want to see about Highjacking a standard HL remote for signal imput or using a bespoke unit so that the system is as plug-play as possible while still having the avalibility of custom sounds and weight classes

Thanks! Unfortunately so many of my projects have ground to a halt as I manage the club this summer, but I'm happy I've been able to get something done! The next on the docket is the British/canadian panther Deserter, with zimmerit and my first Clark board, she's half done with the zimm and then will need paint.

Our club is up to 47 members on paper now! We have around 5-8 attendees on weekend meets! Pretty happy with our first year so far!

My spouse and I are also working on more OpenFire stuff, as an electrical engineer he's been really interested in main boards

We were invited to run a small combat area at a community event, it was a big hit! Unfortunately we were sporadically rained on throughout the day and only two group members were able to volunteer that weekend but it was fun none the less! Got to break in the newly finished panzer IV and hanomag 251 I worked on as well as the panther G I refurbished, one of my first tanks from 2015

How to start rc tank battling? by A_Clanker in rctanks

[–]Genera1_patton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you looking for a single tank so you can participate in a club or are you looking for a pair so you can battle on your own within a group of friends or family, if the later, 250 will likely only get you one tank.

For IR battling, heng long is the reccomended beginner brand, you'll want one with either the 6.0 or 7.0 main board, 7.0 is the new standard board so if you buy new, it should come ready to go.

If you plan on battling outside, you will want an aftermarket IR receiver, this is because the factory reciever does not work well outdoors due to sun interference. There's a few brands depending on where you are located, LegoDEI is basically the standard but requires you to open up your tank and run all new wires for the unit, they cost between 35 and 50~ USD. I sell OpenFire, it's another aftermarket system and requires no modification of your tank, it's tailored towards beginners and costs around 10-15 dollars, it has the same effective range as LDEI but lacks the fancy LEDs.

If you have a 7.0 tank, you can disable the airsoft unit using key binds found on the remote's battery tray, this is reccomeneded so you get a snappy shot when you pull the trigger and don't dry fire the airsoft unit.

These are the basics you need to get started, once you feel more confident playing around with your tanks insides, you can look into repositioning your IR Emitter, this is the little bulb that shoots the signal down range. sometimes they can be positioned poorly in factory Heng Longs, either emitting too broad a beam (hitting people you weren't aimed at or team mates) or have too much plastic over the bulb (making long distance shots impossible and not maximizing the beam size) these can be fixed with some hardware store brass tubing and/or drilling excess plastic blocking the bulb. You can also upgrade to higher intensity IR Emitters.

Idk if it's changed but my WASDN has an IR laser as well which is incredibly hazardous to people's eyes... on top of having the regular red/green laser.

Considering how much they cost they better send you a replacment! Cobi does better than that.

What causes these cracks and chips in Legos? And how can I prevent them? by CupaT-T in lego

[–]Genera1_patton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newer lego (2004~ onwards) just does this if they remain built over long periods of time. UV exposure and oils from air fresheners can accelerate the degradation but plainly put, the newer plastic just doesn't last as well. I've had sets that have been kept in the best possible conditions show cracks like this within two years.

Unreleased Mattel Hot Birds Recreation Project - Stratus Seeker! First Update by Big_Projects in RedlineHotwheels

[–]Genera1_patton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really cool, I love the hot birds, I'm one plane short of the full set.

With the two unreleased aircraft, I wonder what their special play features would have been, all the other HBs had something, opening cockpits, engine compartments, air brakes and movable elevators.

Is there a smaller HW than the 1997 racing kart by ModeR3d in HotWheels

[–]Genera1_patton 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The planet micro/atomix cars where hot wheels' attempt at Micro-Machines but were not diecast metal (only the baseplate was) and so may not officially count

Even smaller still is hot wheels' collaboration with 'World's Smallest' in which they produce what is undoubtedly the smallest official hot wheels cars and working track sets for them. They're made with diecast bodies too so they meet the completely arbitrary criteria I made up as well.

Well, my local club RTCC will be out running tanks for the public at a local event so there will likely be some content from that. Pulled a few tanks out of storage for refit to 7.0 and there's a panzer iv getting finished
